Yes, I am thinking it has one that will idle it till it cools down to a safe level. I think that is what it means. My 7.3 with a Banks turbo had that on it, only you set it to how long you wanted it to run. These are controlled by the computer.

No, not intermittent. I am thinking waterpump at this point. Daughter said it wanted to run hot and when she checked the coolant tonight it was still full. I am thinking pump is almost gone, just not quite gone all the way.

It moves, but around in circles, not flowing the way it should and that is with stat removed. It is either the pump or a head gasket problem. Oh yea, a "new" rad. I'm wanting to go with pump since it kinda did it all at once and with no visible leaks anywhere.

That is already at some truck stops on a trial basis to see how it works. I think they charge you $10 to use it. Pretty neat, a self contained unit, all in one, a heater and/or a/c unit.
