Sounds fishy to me also. I was wrong not to mention embarassed. There are several numbers on the 4.6 stick. Just so happens the engine takes 7qts. to fill. As for engine vib. I may dumb but not quite that stupid. I quess this all happened over a brain ----, Or distruction o f brain cells.

I have a 99 Ford Contour with the 2.0, Auto with OD. Since it has no Trans. pan any suggestions on how it can be serviced short of pulling the Trans. It has a drain plug in the bottom which I have drained and replaced 5qts but i know there's got to be more. What therrible enginering by Ford, but...

I like Wynn's oil additive and would like to by some but I can't seem to find a retailer any where but in the UK. Does anyone have any ideas on a retailer in the US. i really like the Wynn's but I may have to do research and find some else to try.

I may be way off base here but if you have never changed an engine or at least have a very good friend that has changed one. Don't try it. Take it to a shop. Just my .02 worth that's probably only worth .01. If you do try it TAKE PICTURES and lots of them. The 2-3 boxes of baggies and an Sharpie...

Thanks guys. It was the wrong oil dip stick not to mention it (4.6) has a 5.4 oil pan. Man. date 6-96. It takes seven quarts to put it 1/8 below full mark which is where Ford says this motor should run without any vibration, they claim if more than 6 (normally in a 4.6 or 7 in the 5.4) used it...

Does anyone know if this is the right or wrong part number for the engine dip stick for a 97' F-150SCAB XLT 4.60with auto. just put 6 quarts in cranked let sit for 20 min.'e to serttle oil does not touch stick. Hmmmmmmmm I so confused don't think this the right stick.
