    RLI BioSyn SHP 0w-30, 4760 mi, 1996 BMW M3

RLI also makes a 10w30 HD oil which would not be as energy conserving as the 0w30, but it might be a compromise between the 5w40 and the 0w30 which would work ok in warmer weather. In a cold climate the 5w40 would give better flow at startup in winter.

    Mobil 1 5w-30, 15,143 '07 Toyota Prius

5w30 is the correct oil, but I have seen much better results than these using Mobil 0w20 for 15k. Also my Prius suffered from fuel dilution which Blackstone did not detect so I switched to RLI 0w20. I also tried Penzoil Platinum 5w20 and it worked pretty well. You should probably try Pennzoil...

    RLI BioSyn SHP 0w-30, 4760 mi, 1996 BMW M3

Keep in mind that the virgin RLI 0w30 has a starting TBN of around 6, you will do much better with the TBN of the 5w40 HD which starts at around 12 in its unused state.

What are the Better UOA Test Labs ?

I have used Blackstone and thought they were pretty good. Then some one mentioned that they had a fuel dilution issue in their Prius and I sent a sample to Terry Dyson to check things out. I did have fuel dilution which I was missing at Blackstone. So I agree with those people who suggested...

    PP 5/20, 07 corolla, 5,067 miles

Have you considered trying the YB5w20 just to see how it does? It might look as good as or better than the yb5w30. At 5k ocis this would save you a couple of bucks. When you are past the powertrain warranty (60k/5years I think) you could stretch the oci, if you choose and then PP makes more sense.

    Amsoil 0W20 1 year 6803 miles 2008 Toyota Corolla

How many miles on the engine when this uoa was done? How many oil changes on the engine so far? Very nice result.

    PP 5/20, 07 corolla, 5,067 miles

I also don't understand the switch to 5w30. No doubt the oil change was performed before seeing these results. A run of YB5w20 might be interesting because the YB5w30 did so well. If it were my car I would stick with the PP because you will have a cleaner engine. Once you get to the 36 mo or 60k...

PP 5W/20, 7542 miles, 2006 Kia Sedona EX

Lots of info here. Can you tell us what oil was used from left to right? Nice result.

    Mobil 1 0W40 2004 Audi A4 1.8T

I would try RLI 5w40HD, better yet send your next sample to Dyson Analysis and get a professional's opinion.

    RLI Bio-Syn 0w-30 - 7,510 miles -'06 Camry 2AZ-FE

Hi Built-Well, This is a pretty standard Blackstone evaluation of high lead. Note that they are not as worried as you are about the high TAN. When I have had questions about a Blackstone analysis, a phone call has usually been most helpful. They will often re-run a questionable number like your...

    RLI Bio-Syn 0w-30 - 7,510 miles -'06 Camry 2AZ-FE

You also might ask Blackstone to retest the TAN. Labs sometimes make mistakes. I have used RLI 0w20 for many changes on a 2004 Prius and have had very good results. If you consult Terry Dyson it is much cheaper to do it directly rather than through Blackstone.

    Should I use M1 0w-20 in a 5w-30 application?

Did this guy ever buy the oil and do a UOA?

    YB 5w30, 5001 miles, 07 corolla

Why not try the YB 5w20? I know that Bill in Utah gets awesome results with the 5w30, and these results are stellar as well, but this is an 07 which is spec'd for 5w20. Maybe the yb 5w20 will do even better? Worth a shot in my opinion, but its not my car. Also the PP did not do as well which...

    Mobil 1 5W/30 5189 OCI in 2007 Toyota Prius

I agree with Bill, wait until 60k to extend your oci. Also the Prius tends to suffer from fuel dilution so extended intervals are not a great idea. An analysis by Dyson Analysis may not be a bad idea. Also the RLI 5w30 (I use the 0w20 but I have 100k on my 2004) might help with fuel dilution and...

    PP 5W-30, 10K, 08 Altima

Not familiar with the warranty on this car, but if its the usual 60k for powertrain. I would do another 10k interval for warranty reasons and then try 15k, then 20k on the PP and maybe try an Amsoil or Mobil 1 oil filter for the 15k or longer intervals. 20k over 4 months looks very possible with...

    Royal Purple XPR 0w-10 3005 02 Sentra SpecV 2.5L

I wouldn't worry about the "high" Cu. In some cases Cu is in the wear additives. I agree that another 3-4000 miles would be fine, but it is not my car. If the Cu is an oil additive you will see the level remain the same or possibly drop on your next analysis. You might even consider doing the...

Need help on 0w20 recommendation for 09 Corolla.

Try the Mobil, it should be fine, especially at 5k oci.

    RLI 5w-30 12,900 miles '07 Honda Fit

I agree with those who suggest changing out the oil. A run out to 15k would be interesting, but it is not my car. I doubt running it a few thousand more miles would hurt anything, but if you do not plan to do another analysis at 15k, just dump it now to be safe.

    2004 Lincoln Navigator - 4,824 miles - MC 5w-20

Looks pretty good. The low miles indicate severe service, so you might want to back off to every 6 months, you could probably use a good dino (to save a few bucks)or try a full synthetic(Mobil 1 or Penzoil Platinum) if money is no object just to see if there is any difference, but the MC would...

Amsoil '01 Accord with 15160 miles

I would agree with running shorter intervals. Nitration should be 10 or less. With lead that high I would be sending a sample to Dyson Analysis. Also looking at the linked data, the nitration and viscosity seem to increase as the oci is lengthened so it may be the nitration leading to...
