My bad, its an 2004 ford expy 5.4 5w20 rec oil do some towing 4000lb boat and live in florida. Mileage on veh is 63000 currently running 5w30 val durablend love this oil. thanks!

I have a 04 ford expy wih the 5.4 I am running 5w30 val durablend , I have tried most oils on the market 5w20s 5w30s this oil seems to make the least amount of piston slap noise at start up.

Just wondering, is amsoil really the money, if cost was not a factor would people use amsoil over other syns. I use amsoil 15w40 in my marine engine and am starting to use it in my 04 5.4 asl 5w30. Thanks for your comments

2004 ford exp 5.4 5w30 asl amsoil best oil yet and i have honestly tried them all,also i'm getting better gas mileage with this oil.

I have a 2004 exp 2 valve and cannot get myself to use straight 5w20. I mix 2qts 5w30 amsoil with 4qts 5w20 havoline feels better to me and definetly is much quieter,I have not done an uoa on this mix. Please chime in if you do the same. Thanks for your responce, I know I am not alone.

The reason this is done is because with syn alone any brand the engine makes a rattling noise at start up. As to your question, no i have used mc 820s filters and have tried almost every 5w20 5w30 syn to dino. Only startup oil seems to make a difference. Live in florida have not tried it in cold weather yet.
