    AutoZone House Brand Motor Oil

AutoZone has a $12.99 oil change special going for AutoZone's own motor oil, and a STP filter. I didn't even know AZ had it's own house brand of motor oil until today. Is there any data out there on this particular brand yet? What blend is this rebranded from. Historically, I'd have no problem...

Too Late/Unsafe To Change Tranny Fluid

Looking for opinions to help in my situation. I have a 1998 Nissan Altima, automatic transmission. The car has nearly 60,000 miles on it; I purchased used when the car had 25,000. A technician told me it probably wouldn't be safe to change the fluid on the car due to the mileage and the tranny...

    Interview with Car Dealership

More great points and views expressed here. Very helpful! I'm coming to the conclusion that car sales probably isn't the best path for me. None of my experience, education, or personal traits point towards such a profession. Truck driving sounds very appealing, but I don't know how it would...

    Interview with Car Dealership

Lots of great information here (as always). I appreciate it! My largest concern is my tendency towards introversion... it comes and goes. If something truly sparks my interest, I'll come out of my shell and everything's great. Otherwise, I'll dread going to work, and it usually shows. I've...

    Interview with Car Dealership

I got an email from a local dealership saying they found my resume via a particular jobs site. I'm considering going in for an interview to be a car salesman. What pitfalls should I avoid in the interview, and what should I watch out for in signing a contract? I've never been employed in sales...

    Ricer Jokes

"Rice Joke #8: You know you’re a ricer when you cant see cop car lights thru ur tinted windows" Oh! That one's hurtful! Just kidding, my tint's not THAT dark.

    So, about that SLOB

I've been wondering about what's been discussed in this thread. I have 3K or so on my Mobil 1 and I've been pondering adding the hot pink stuff to my crankcase before a quickly approaching 600+ mile journey. The talk of "spicing up" my Group IV oil sounds appealing. I reckon I'll dump in a bottle...

    Favorite Cheap-o Beer/Lager

Mine is Killian's. Not the best, but preferable to Bud, Coors, etc. Normally, I prefer vodka... but for a quick buzz, I don't mind picking up a sub-$5 6-pack with which to end a long day. Anyone else tossing 6-packs from Wal-Mart in their cart?

    SLOB at BigLots

I may get some 75K Plus for my girl's car, if she decides to keep it much longer. I saw some of it while I was at Big Lots, but I was on a mission to find and sieze the pink stuff.

    SLOB at BigLots

I just grabbed 8 (hot pink!) bottles of this stuff at $1.99 each. That's a solid 4 years worth of oil changes for me (if I stick with synthetic). Although my Altima isn't a high-revving, performance as per the bottle's wording suggests is the targeted application; I think it'll be beneficial...

    First transmission servicing, need input

The Hayden Rapid Cool line looks good. I remember reading that plate and fin coolers are somehow superior to the tubular design. Using less space for installation is definitely a good feature, as I'm not sure exactly how large of a cooler I can cram in there. I'm thinking about going with...

    First transmission servicing, need input

Thanks for the excellent replies; tons of very helpful information. I'll go with the drain/refill before the trip, then another one shortly thereafter. ATF cooler to come once I get the fresh fluid in there. Good stuff!

    First transmission servicing, need input

My '98 Nissan Altima is approaching 46K mi. and has never had a transmission flush or drain 'n' refill ever. I'm certain this vital service is needed, as I'm notcing a slight bucking when shifting that wasn't there when I got the car some 20K miles ago. My budget is tight as I am moving...
