15400-RTA-003 are the Japan made filters. 15400-PLM-A02 are the Fram filters. Basically a blue Fram Tough Guard.

Where do you find those? None of the Honda dealers near me stock them.

Amazon used to have the PXL57356 in stock. Now they just have the regular white cans. I was looking on Rock Auto for the PO4610, which they have in a blue can. Those are pretty decent filters for the price. I’ve also looked into the X4610, which I can’t seem to find anywhere. All very good...

That’s the only thing I’m worried about buying filters off Rock Auto. I have no way of knowing how they were stored and for how long.

How did those filters work out for you? I’m thinking about picking some up since I’m down to my last few Purolator BOSS filters.

Did you end up using the filters? I’m looking at either the pronto one or the Wix Protec on rock auto. My OCI is 3500-4000 miles, so I figure I don’t have to spend a ton on a decent filter. I have multiple cars that use the same filter, so I do about 15-20 oil changes per year.

I’m thinking about buying a case from rock auto. Yours still working good? They seem to be pretty good quality for how cheap they are. I’ve also been looking at the Pronto PO4610HN1.

Most of my trips to work/college are about 90% highway. The only real city driving I do is on the weekend. I figure it’s fine as all of the specs are extremely close to the CARQUEST filter that is specific to my Honda.

Agreed. I’ve never seen the extended version under their own brand name, only for other brands. Not sure how much of a difference there is between the two tbh. Especially since I can get the 4612EX for just over $5 per filter.

Interesting that they’re different sizes considering that premium guard makes the filter for Carquest.

Yeah.. probably not worth it. I think I’ll just go with the PG4612EX

Any recs for the 7317 size? I’m down to my last 3 Purolator boss filters that I switched to after Fram filters were basically NLA. I’m thinking of going with PG4612EX.

From the Fram site, it looks like the gasket on the 9688 is .200 inches and on the 7317 is .281 inches. It is different, but not double the size. 9688 Specs 7317 Specs

The bypass setting is the same for the 6607/9688/7317. The only actual difference other than the can size is the burst pressure. The 7317 is 350 and the other two are 300-310.

I’m looking at a carquest filter 85334 and wondering if it would fit. It says it’s the same size as Fram 9688/3593A. I’ve been trying to see if it would fit on my 07 and 09 accords. I’m pretty sure it would fit the 07, but maybe not the 09 since it’s just above the drain plug.

I’m looking at those as well. They seem pretty decent for the price point.
