No need to resort to childishness. If it's easier for you, I'll stop following this thread.

Sorry fellas, but the proof is there. I can't stop people being precious about their motor oil, but I do know that Mannol is an excellent oil despite the non-compliance rulings. I'll be buying more.

    Absolutely. Mannol 7715 clearly mentioned.

I've been using Mannol 7715 for a minimum of 12 years with no problems whatsoever. This being the case, I'd have used some of the batches that are deemed non-compliant. I do think they are/have been non-compliant with the industry standard, but it doesn't mean the oil is not fit for purpose...

Not being compliant with their claims is one thing, producing bad oil is quite another. I accept Mannol have made errors with their claims which are still unresolved in some cases, but this does not negate the quality of their oil. One shouldn't conflate these sorts of errors with the...

Are those prices for 5l or 20l? I buy Mannol in 20l drums - £52 I doubt you could buy Fuchs or Total for anything like that price in 20l. If I could, I doubt it'd be available in the UK. As I said, never a problem with Mannol, and it is VAG approved (officially).

We don't have Krona in the UK, and Sweden is a long way away!! They don't 'outclass' Mannol, what are you talking about??

Can't find that here, and I doubt they'd compete with Mannol prices. Do you have a link?

    Would you continue using Mannol?

Not really. Many of their oils are officially approved by VAG, including 7715. I'm sure VAG would be taking them to court if they were making these sorts of claims. Just because errors in approval have been made in the past doesn't make their oil bad, quite the contrary. I tend to go with...

I just order 20 litres of 7715 and don't worry about any of this. Mannol oil is just as good as any other, despite the minute tech differences. No point in getting anal about tiny differences here and there.

If conventional oil will go to 500,000 miles, why would you not run conventional? The vast majority of people don't run a car anywhere near that mileage.

The brake fluid is widely on sale. As this is a critical safety item, it's either ok now or the authorities are not doing their job and should be sued if anything happens.

According to VLS, the mPa.s unit that measures HTHS viscosity was a little lower (3.19 or so) for 7715 compared to some other oils which are around 3.5. However, this is fairly negligible unless you are demanding a LOT from your oil, like tuned/racing vehicles, etc. Ultimately, if you are...

My point was not related to a 'how many miles has yours done' competition, but that mine has done 120,000 miles using Mannol 7715. As the thread was about whether Mannol can be trusted as a brand, I was reflecting my own, positive experience.

In my experience, Mannol is an excellent oil. Sure, it's run into some 'approval' discrepancies, but that's probably partly due to admin issues, amongst other things. If the oil was substandard to the point of being a risk to engines, it would be banned by the appropriate authorities (or at...
