    I would just change both yourself, but to answer your question, I'd change the oil first. Also, if you change the filter first, you'll have to probably add oil just to drive to the quick-lube place, depending on the filter capacity.

    If I recall, under US law, a manufacturer can only deny warranty claims if they can prove that the oil was the cause of the breakdown, whether you keep records or not. My opinion, do it yourself per the owner's manual and record when you did it.

    Uncle's had three, and loved them. He's currently in a Trailblazer SS (6.0 High Output V8) and is mad that they are discontinuing them soon. Hasn't had a single problem with any of them. Great winter cars (the 4x4, of course )
