    Not impressed by Rock Auto

For international shipments, all packages have always arrived in good condition. I think it's the carrier that damages the packages because when I see the Amazon delivery vans, it's frightening. I've ordered shock absorbers, brake hoses, electronic modules, bearings—basically a whole bunch of...

How long for Diesel oil to turn black?

I have an old Grand Voyager 2.8 CRD (2006 town and country) with the EGR system blocked off (using a small screw). The oil is still crystal clear after two months.

    Mercedes-Benz oil filter consensus

Wouah... Well, yes, fortunately the filters all last quite a long time, but what matters is the filtration quality and keeping pressure drop to a minimum. All the manufacturers mentioned have supplied Mercedes, okay, but again, they supplied filters that met Mercedes’ specifications—filters with...

    Mercedes-Benz oil filter consensus

Mann is the cheapest because it isn't as good as Knecht/Mahle. Mann is an urban legend that just won't die, but no one has really conducted a serious test. Everyone confuses Mann with OEM specifications and aftermarket Mann products.

    Would you continue using Mannol?

Mannol is just a packager, not a producer, so mannol has no way of knowing the actual quality of the production. And since I assume mm has entered into purchase agreements, the cost remains fixed for mannol but not for the producer: variations in raw material costs mean that the manufacturer...

Hello, Sorry for by bad english. For my old Chrysler Grand Voyager 2.8 CRD 2006 (diesel engine like jeep liberty 2.8 crd 2004) I ordered two front shock absorbers from Rockauto - Gabriel Ultra Ready Mount, and it seems that Gabriel manufactures shock absorbers for Napa (the Proformer) because...

Which oil for an old 2006 Grand Voyager 2.8 crd automatic

It's just a question of cost and the GTX is also made for diesel, it says so on it. and api ck4 is hard to find in France. I only found volvo oil 10w30 api ck4 at the same price of the gtx. i can try it.

Which oil for an old 2006 Grand Voyager 2.8 crd automatic

I bought it for $700, and honestly, I find this car very reliable for a 20-year-old car. The EGR is pneumatic and can be easily disabled with a screw. This solves the problem of clogged sensors. Then you need a catch can to prevent the injectors from clogging, and I will use Stanadyne from time...

Which oil for an old 2006 Grand Voyager 2.8 crd automatic

In France, all petroleum products are heavily taxed. The gtx costs "only" $43 per 1,3 gallon. And the rimula is more expansive. Thank you for the pan, I will buy it.

Which oil for an old 2006 Grand Voyager 2.8 crd automatic

Thank you for your answers. I change the engine oil every year or every 10,000 km (5,000 miles). For the transmission, I will use ATF+4 as recommended by Chrysler (every 25,000 miles).

Which oil for an old 2006 Grand Voyager 2.8 crd automatic

Hello, I bought an old european Chrysler Grand Voyager 2.8 crd - 2006 with automatic transmission. I will use it to transport materials for my DIY projects around the house and occasionally tow a small caravan. I believe it is a clone of the Town and Country. The engine has over 300,000 km...

Pictures inside a pair of same make/model, 2-year old engines on Valvoline Restore and Protect and HPL

The API SQ standard requires that the oil prevent the formation of deposits throughout its entire service life, unlike the API SP standard. This requirement applies throughout the entire service life and is therefore a very strict standard.
