AcDelco PF63 (old) and PF63A (new) comparison

As mentioned the oil filter "cap wrench" between the old PF63 and new pf63A are completely different! I replace them on the 6.6 v8 gas, and the duramax 6.6 diesel. On the diesel it's mounted in a tight location. I bought the lisle oil filter cap wrench, worked perfectly on every old pf63 oil...

AcDelco PF63 (old) and PF63A (new) comparison

Fantastic. Thank you for sharing! I posted how I am a mobile truck technician and we regularly would buy dozens of the pf63 oil filters for the isuzu trucks with the 6.6 gas as well as the duramax diesel 6.6 liter. Couldn't buy a pf63 suddenly and had to buy several pf63A. The duramax diesel...

Removing the chemical bond/effects of road salt from a truck frame

Okay, I canceled the appointment for the $75 underbody pressure wash. Wish I could get out to the krown dealer for the salt eliminator wash. Going to maybe see what chemical agents I can buy and drive 75 miles to a friend's house with a power washer. Where I live, I'm unfortunately in a rental...

Removing the chemical bond/effects of road salt from a truck frame

It somewhat works, but it still chemically bonds to the metal. In addition I feel as if the water on salt activates the harmful effects! Rhino truck coatings and plastic coats actually seal in rust and cause severe issues. Oil based coatings are generally best as the block the harmful...

Removing the chemical bond/effects of road salt from a truck frame

Removing the chemical bond/effects of road salt from a truck frame

Good morning! I have a 2011 Tacoma with a nice frame. The second gen tacoma faced some of the auto industries largest frame issues and there was a severe campaign (not a recall per say because they did this for 10 to 12 years) where they would replace whole frames for free. My frame is in...

Post your latest oil or filter purchase

As mentioned just above I found lots of valvoline restore and protect in 0w20, 5w30, and 5w20 in walmart. No 5w30 valvoline extended protection but there was a empty spot on the shelf for it. Went with 5w30 mobil 1 extended preformace instead. I plan to go 5000 miles. Also didn't see any shell...

Post your latest oil or filter purchase

Lots of restore and protect in 0w20, 5w20 ans 5w30 in walmart northern Michigan. What was kinda odd is there was no valvoline extended protection in 5w30. I was wanting to try it in my '11 tacoma, I have always stuck with mobil 1 or Castrol every synthetic oil change I've done.

New super tech multi duty complex grease

Classic! That's super expensive. I'm a mobile truck and trailer technician. I'm constantly buying 14 ounce tube's of grease. I usually buy the red valvoline lithium complex for around $6 or7 a tube. It doesn't "sweat" as badly as some of the others. With a red oily substance that leaks out...

    Walmart out of filters?

To sort of add to this with the first brands supply issues, I am a mobile technician. We work on a lot of semi/ heavy truck class 7 and 8 but also a lot of smaller vehicles that take an ac Delco PF63. The new 6.6 duramax and also the 6.6 v8 gas both use this filter. I bought 4 the other week...

Many new offerings hit walmart shelves today

I recall my local walmart had the "squeeze bag" quarts of valvoline 75w90 as well for a low price, which is awesome. They are super handy. I carry them on my service truck for my mobile jobs. Walmart has had some great inventory for automotive fluids, some tools etc! Not saying it's perfect but...

Best Injector cleaner With P.E.A. for the money?

Alright, I need to get on the ball with ordering some redline cleaner as I cannot get it locally. It has a high content of P.E.A. What I did for now was bought a bottle of stabil In season. The stabil in season. It contains P.E.A. it's supposed to treat 50 gallons. I mixed it with mostly...

Comparing Pri-G, to stabil, and keeping gas tanks free of rust as well.

I've seen the stabil in season has P.E.A. in it as well! Probably why they both work pretty well for what they are.

Comparing Pri-G, to stabil, and keeping gas tanks free of rust as well.

Replys like this have made me question using standard stabil. I've read of people here and there having corrosion issues even after using stabil. This time around I used stabil and used approx 1.5 to 2 x the mixture in the fourtrax 300. It has a metal fuel tank, and for whatever reason many...

Best Injector cleaner With P.E.A. for the money?

Excellent chart thank you! What is the source by chance? This helps a ton. The gum out regane doesn't have a much pea potentially if it's close to 10% of course. The only other one I was curious about was stabil in season. They advertise the in season treatment has P.E.A. , however not sure...

Oil recommendation needed for Van-air w/ Kohler CH18

Due to where I live it's still dipping below freezing so I need something with good cold flow characteristics. In addition, after may I plan to change it to...
