That’s probably what I’ll do. I actually emailed GM Dexos: they said if Dexos D is unavailable, an ACEA C3 or C5 can be used in the mean time. Couldn’t get them to specify if it would or would not void my warranty (despite my best efforts).

Should have mentioned that in the post. The rate appears to be about a quart every 5,500-6,000 miles. Doesnt really change based on my driving. With my normal OCI I could get away without adding any.

When they give me an updated sheet once they know what the oil is it won’t be flagged red. As stated by several others, ester responsible for the oxidation value. Planning on doing another UOA during the summer with a longer interval. Thanks all

Just noticed my purolator oil filters say not to prefill on the box. Should i return and replace with ones that dont say I cant?

A flush is at best a waste of money, worstcase a ruined motor. Id do one early change and go back to normal, shorter OCI due to the short trips.

Would you have the same issues with the test if it provided the results you were hoping for? I’m obviously assuming you wanted it to validate your prefilling — in all honesty, I did too.

Sure more data is great but I’m going to disagree with your logic: the second UOA looking good with high FD seems good enough to prove your point, but the first with high FD and awful wear isn’t relevant? Can’t have it both ways.
