Thoughts on the Silverado 2.7 turbo engine

I am contemplating buying a 2020 Silverado with the 2.7 turbo engine and the 8l90 transmission. What’s the overall consensus of this powertrain? My current truck is a 2016 Silverado with the 4.3 and it struggles with our pontoon on hills. It does the job but you definitely feel it and the...

Best way to treat 2016 Silverado frame

Yeah I’ve heard that but the fluid film was cheaper and I could get it quicker. I wanted to do it asap since I’m impulsive and will be at the lake all summer 😂 I like the black option they offer because the regular colored version looks gross on my Subaru. Not that many people are looking under it.

Best way to treat 2016 Silverado frame

I ordered a sprayer with attachments and a gallon of fluid film black. I plan on pulling all the body plugs etc as well as doing the entire frame. I have a lift so no issues there. I couldn’t imagine doing it on the ground . Heck with that!

Best way to treat 2016 Silverado frame

I bought a very clean 2016 Silverado I wanted to undercoat it or similar but wasn’t sure what would be the best product for the job considering GM’s frames are coated in the black waxy whatever that is. Wasn’t sure if regular undercoating was best or something else a better idea. Thanks everyone!

94 GMC Sierra down on power

Distributor replacement fixed it. Runs perfect now! My guess is the pickup coil was weak but you have to dismantle the distributor to replace it so it seemed more intelligent just to replace the entire thing. She runs like a scalded cat now!

94 GMC Sierra down on power

Yes. I have noticed when you first fire it up it runs good it'll rev right up and Park and then after a couple minutes it'll start cutting out when you rev It up and then randomly it'll be okay and then I'll do it again but it always seems to run perfect for the first couple minutes it's fired up.

94 GMC Sierra down on power

Operates flawlessly. Fuel pressure is 11 and stays that way even when you rev it up drive it down the road etc. fuel pressure holds steady

94 GMC Sierra down on power

Appears to be fine. Snap goes to zero and then comes back and stabilizes

94 GMC Sierra down on power

Well the air filter and housing is off because it's tbi so very easy to remove so as far as the intake side I can't imagine what else would be restricted.

94 GMC Sierra down on power

And if it doesn't? When I checked it at 2500 rpm it stayed steady I didn't check it on throttle snap

94 GMC Sierra down on power

I did test the coolant sensor and the ohms I got seemed to correctly correlate with the actual engine temperature pretty closely

Also it's tbi so you can remove the air filter and it's housing which also makes zero difference.

94 GMC Sierra down on power

Idles fine. But vacuum doesn't drop when revved and pulling the o2 sensor out of the exhaust didn't really make a difference which means from everything I know that the exhaust isn't restricted.
