Shaeffer Supreme racing 5w-50. Why can’t I find info in VOA or UOA, etc.?

xW-30's have a HT/HS of low-mid 3. The Supreme 9000 5W-50 has a HT/HS of 5.08, a healthy jump. This car has a 10 quart sump and a external oil cooler. With unknown exact oil temps on the track, my "thinking out loud" thought is if that's necessary? If temps are staying well within range of a...

Shaeffer Supreme racing 5w-50. Why can’t I find info in VOA or UOA, etc.?

Specs, as in "specifies" or "calls for". Yes, I know its just the recommendation, as any owners manual lists.

Shaeffer Supreme racing 5w-50. Why can’t I find info in VOA or UOA, etc.?

Ford specs 0/5W-30 for the 5.0 Coyote in the Mach 1, just to be clear. The 5.2 Voodoo/Predator specs the 5W-50. Do you know what your oil temps are when tracking the car?

What's the downside to using 0W-30 vs 5W-30?

0W is good down to about -30°F, 5W is good down to about -20°F as far as cranking go.

    Considering a 3.6L H-6 Subaru

Xanax and 6-pack not needed, just the right tools and patience. I didn't have any issues when I did mine a few years ago, the extensions and magnetic plug socket worked great for it. I gather the 3.0/3.6's are more of a PITA though, no experience there.

StarTron Solved My Weed Trimmer Carburetor Problems

I used to run 87 E10 and used Sta-Bil in the off seasons. Years ago I switched to only 91 E0 for my OPE and no longer treat it with anything. Everything starts as expected, carbs and bowls are clean when inspected. Same goes with my Lawn-Boy and Echo saw, 91 E0 and Royal Purple HP 2-C oil, start...

Put Bilstein 5100 on my 2019 Tacoma

How does a new shock overpower the spring on a vehicle to the point of pulling it longer? That is what has to happen for a shock to raise the distance between the frame and the wheel. I’m lost as to how that works?

Put Bilstein 5100 on my 2019 Tacoma

The springs, coil/leaf/torsion bar/coilover, are what determine the ride height of a vehicle. The shock absorbers do just that, absorb the impact from the wheel. Air shocks/bags can increase height but that’s a different animal/purpose compared to a gas monotube.

    2000 OBS K3500 454 miss firing

Cam Retard value +/- 2* from 0 and blipping throttle north of 2k RPM’s, adjusted by rotating the distributor. At least for the small blocks. I have a few newer scanners that don’t show this value, only one that I bought back in the day for this exact purpose does.
