Best Keying Devices Autel, Launch, VVDI etc?

Excellent tutorial. I was looking into a programming tool for programming keys for future van life rigs. I would stick to Japanese makes with a few hyundai models with proven reliability records. The only Euro vehicle I'd consider would be the MB Sprinter. I've looked into the smaller MB Metris...

Best Keying Devices Autel, Launch, VVDI etc?

I'm researching key programing devices, but am uncertain which device/brand is best. It seems Autel is the most popular. VVDI and Launch are less common and seem to cost more.

    New VS Rebuilt Alternator

So, if I were to take the van to a Midas or Jiffy Lube, would they need to order the Alternator? I was under the impression that an Alternator would be common and used across a range or different Hyundai/Kia models like the A6LF2 tranny being used throughout models

    New VS Rebuilt Alternator

Not trying to rebuild lol. That's above my knowledge. I'm questioning why a ruilt unit would be better than a new aftermarket alternator.

    New VS Rebuilt Alternator

I'm in the process of repairing items on a 2012 Kia Sedona that I purchased off FB market $2600 only 128k miles timing chain and W/P done at 113k. The main issue is the alternator and sporadic sticking passenger front caliper. The alternator is most important right now. I have read that OEM...

Hyundai Lambda 3.8 VS Lambda 3.5

I've been considering a 2nd Gen Kia Sedona for quite sometime, after seeing many with high miles. The initial first 5 years came with a 3.8 Lambda coupled with a 5 speed auto. From 2011-2014 was with a 3.5 Lambda II which was coupled with a 6 speed auto. It seems like a the 3.5 would be better...

Astro Van or 2nd Gen Kia Sedona?

The current van with bad transmission was $2500. It has 280k miles. I'm not sure if it's feasible to repair. I bought it last February. The van needs brakes and suspension components replaced/repaired. There's also electrical issues with the TIPM moduel which caused me to have to order a $7...

Astro Van or 2nd Gen Kia Sedona?

I'm searching for a new rig for Vanlife. The Chrysler T&C that I purchased has a bad transmission. I'm still able to start the motor to get the car interior warm, but I'm weary of fuel dilution. I've been looking at Astro Vans because of the 4.3 reliability, and simplicity of DIY repairs...

Dilemma on repairing old Van 280k miles

As the title states, I have a 2013 Chrysler T&C Van that's been having some mechanical issues. The motor seems fine. Isn't burning oil or leaking. The transmission is another story. Initially when I bought it for $2500 to drive back from Chicago to MD it was fine. The trip concluded on May...

Craigslist is such a mess now

I agree. I've encountered countless scams and shady dealings. I reserve it for restaurant waitstaff gigs. Most now use Facebook Market, or OfferUp App. I once had to get Restraining order on a landlord that wouldn't stay out of my living area. Again.... another Craigslist ordeal.

    Pentastar 11hr road trip E85 or 87?

Does anyone have a UOA from using E85 exclusively? I'm so questioning the degradation effects on oil from E85 and weather a prolonged road trip would offset the degradation due to the heat boiling off excess moisture from e85

    Pentastar 11hr road trip E85 or 87?

Would E15 be a better optionin the long run? There's also 88 gas that I've seen at some stations

    Pentastar 11hr road trip E85 or 87?

What about the cleansing properties of E85? I've read that it's very effective at cleaning carbon from 87 or other petroleum dominant fuel. The only other downside I've read about is the OCI will be more often since more fuel is needed to combustion, which results in more contaminants in the oil.

    Pentastar 11hr road trip E85 or 87?

Yes, it is flex fuel capable. It's unfortunate that Chrysler stopped flex fuel in the current Pacifica and only Van that they offer

    Pentastar 11hr road trip E85 or 87?

I'm about to embark on an 11hr trip from Chicago to my home state of MD. I just purchased a 2013 Chrysler T&C Van from FB market for $2500 230k miles formerly a fleet vehicle. The oil was changed out to PP HM 5w30. Should I run E85 since it's prolonged constant rpm and speed or 87? It's 2.99...

Nissan Armada, Infiniti QX56 overall reliability

I've entertained a cargo van build but many have lots of rust on the base boards. Cargo vans also lack the plastics and fabric that line the cargo area. A build out is necessary in cooler climates. The Nissan NV2500 was on my radar at one point due to using the same Armada VK56 but they're...

Nissan Armada, Infiniti QX56 overall reliability

Snuck, thanks for the great summary about the Armada. I'm still very much on the fence about the rig, because growing "1983" up Nissan has yet to put out a small car to compete with the Civic and Corolla with regard to longevity. There's older Impreza models that I will see from time to time...

Nissan Armada, Infiniti QX56 overall reliability

I'm still in my attach search for a new rig for Vanlife. I've been steadily waiting and banking all of my money. The Armada has appeared in my searches on FB market and OfferUp app. I have been searching for a used first Gen Sequoia or LC 100 series, but they're either overpriced, or a mess...

Update: I'm working at Walgreens, but I've only been there 3 days. The entire job is still an unknown because I can't work in the Pharmacy yet, because Illinois hasn't generated a license number for me as of today. I've been doing computer training in time photo department, which has been...
