    ATF 3x Drain & Fill

That's honestly just a myth... Maybe if you NEVER changed the fluid before in the life of the vehicle. It's fine, if you've been keeping it changed regularly. A lot of people change it when the transmission was already having issues to begin with and they claim the fluid change made it worse...

    ATF 3x Drain & Fill

Okay... I'm with you now... I've heard other people say to drive hundreds of miles in between, but I'd much rather go about it the fastest way...

    ATF 3x Drain & Fill

This will probably be the best option for me honestly... I'm not against it, but could someone explain to me why you need to run the engine and cycle through the gears in between???

    ATF 3x Drain & Fill

Before everyone starts bashing me, I'm not here to ask opinions on whether or not I should be "flushing" the transmission fluid. I am only asking how it should be done when I do it. I bought enough fluid to flush out all the old fluid by doing a 3x drain & fill. How would you go about changing...

Castrol vs Valvoline High Mileage Motor Oil - Which One is Better?

Has anyone used either one of these and, if so, what was your experience?

Castrol vs Valvoline High Mileage ATF - Which is Better?

I've been considering using either of these two transmission fluids, but can't make up my mind... Has anyone used these in their car? What was your experience?

    2009 Honda Odyssey Extensive Tune-Up (200,000+ Miles)

I know, but it will keep them from getting any worse. I will be flushing the engine with BG EPR and Liqui Moly Engine Flush with a 3x oil change. High mileage oil and BG MOA They don't require smog checks here.

Those with 150,000 miles or more, check in

Did you muzzle the VCM? What other things are you doing to keep it running good? I've got a 2009 EX-L with about the same mileage

    2009 Honda Odyssey Extensive Tune-Up (200,000+ Miles)

...But you don't believe it fixes those issues??? I agree, specific cars may have ruined piston rings, but I believe a muzzler will reverse it on most vehicles. Welp... I'll probably have it for a few months and drive it 24/7 so I don't know... At least I'll know I tried my best.

    2009 Honda Odyssey Extensive Tune-Up (200,000+ Miles)

Nope... Read this article. When VCM is active, it shuts off some of the cylinders and it sucks oil past the piston rings. You want to disable that and run it as a normal engine without ECO mode.

    2009 Honda Odyssey Extensive Tune-Up (200,000+ Miles)

Yes, but even if it wasn't then I would still install the muzzler either way. It was oil getting into the spark plug cylinders causing misfires. For one, you could tell if the oil stops getting into the spark plugs... I bet you don't have any experience even testing out VCM muzzlers at all...

    Opinion on my fluids?

I'll agree with you if only for the transmission. Pretty sure I need one for the engine oil system... If only because of that stupid VCM!

    2009 Honda Odyssey Extensive Tune-Up (200,000+ Miles)

Well, I guess we'll see who's laughing later... I have enough proof to believe it'll work. Mechanics have quoted piston ring jobs on THIS car as well! But I know I'll be able to fix it another way.

    2009 Honda Odyssey Extensive Tune-Up (200,000+ Miles)

Yeah, I'm planning on ordering the Aisin kit from RockAuto. The serpentine was replaced Dec '21 so it might be fine.

    Opinion on my fluids?

You're right... Considering, it's the only BF additive on the market, that seems fishy as well... Not using it. I wasn't planning on doing a complete "flush" on it; just a drain & fill. I know the current fluid was taken care of around 10k miles ago, but I just wanted to use something better...

    Opinion on my fluids?

Yep! That was my first goal! Alright, I honestly just wanted to choose the best one I could get my hands on, but I wasn't sure which that would be. Thank you! I was actually trying to find a good coolant!

    2009 Honda Odyssey Extensive Tune-Up (200,000+ Miles)

This is the first car I have flipped. I just wanted to save it from the junk yard so someone gave it to me. It would be a private party sell so no, that doesn't matter. I really just want to see how much I can improve it. Plus I don't want the new owner to have any issues too soon down the road.

    2009 Honda Odyssey Extensive Tune-Up (200,000+ Miles)

This is where we'll have to disagree... Installing the muzzler will 100% fix the issue! If you get a good one. Following with an Italian tune-up and cleaning the oil compartment with BG EPR and oil change will make it practically brand new! I'm serious about this! COUNTLESS people have been...

    2009 Honda Odyssey Extensive Tune-Up (200,000+ Miles)

The VCM is literally what got the van in this shape to begin with! It's sending oil into the spark plug cylinders and causing misfires. Honda should have never even installed a VCM on this vehicle to begin with!!!! I'm definitely going to install the muzzler because that's the main thing that'll...

    Opinion on my fluids?

Why is that? Would it hurt to do a 3x drain & refill now instead of 2x? I'm planning on selling this van. It was replaced around 10,000 miles ago, but the reason being is I did want to use MaxLife ATF instead. Yep! That was the first thing I planned on doing!
