impulse Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 buy - use in what vehicle?

UOA isn't useful to compare wear like that. It doesn't show particles larger than 5u or so and generally the statistical differences you can notice between oils are noise. If you're seeing truly significant differences it's probably not the oil (unless it's completely sheared, ran low, etc.)...

impulse Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 buy - use in what vehicle?

Japanese dealers would give you euro-style 0w30/5w40 oils for their older engines (pre-xW20 era), they're completely fine in just about any of them. As for service interval, not sure about the EZ36 but in general Mobil's recommendations will be overridden by the manufacturer. On my FA, by...

Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 vs Castrol EDGE 5w30 Euro K

I'd argue it's on Castrol, but really, what's the risk in using this on an A3/B4 application?

Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 vs Castrol EDGE 5w30 Euro K

presumably "MEETS A3/B4" makes it seem more "stout" or whatever. in our market, I would be surprised many people care about ACEA standards, having the viscosity and the makes on front probably satisfies the majority of buyers, the more savvy ones would be looking at the approvals on the back...

Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 vs Castrol EDGE 5w30 Euro K

It's what you'd expect, approved for mid-saps and recommended for full saps applications.

2022+ Subaru WRX FA24F Oil Strategy

Part of my reasoning is that Subaru doesn't really have a spec for engine oil. Just API/ILSAC with a viscosity suggestion, as is common with the japanese manufacturers. The dealer doesn't want to weasel out of work, they just want to make sure SOA is going to pay for it if it's under warranty.

Air Cooled Standby Generac Generator oil questions

Sort of, I'm saying that there's more than one way to measure "thickness" and one of them is more useful for the SAE grade that most consumers are familiar with, which is why it's still on virtually every product data sheet. Isn't necessarily as useful for measuring performance under load. I'm...

2022+ Subaru WRX FA24F Oil Strategy

No, a 40 grade SP/SQ oil won't have LSPI concerns. detergent pack is updated with SN+/SP and it is not as limited on ZDDP as a 30 grade ILSAC/RC oil would be. I did the same thing while hoarding for the rest of the year. All 4 vehicles I maintain can use 0w40 FS without issue (even the tiny GM...

2022+ Subaru WRX FA24F Oil Strategy

No point to switching back to a 20 grade post-warranty. And odds are very low you would benefit from Valvoline Restore and Protect on an engine that's seen regular oil changes on Pennzoil Ultra Platinum/Mobil 1 ESP. For a JDM FA20DIT, 5w40 was fully acceptable in their manual, as well as a...

    C40GT in non GT cars

Unless someone posts VOA we can only speculate but GT probably lacks MoDTC (for DLC compatibility). They presumably have another, more expensive friction modifier in the GT product. Seems like a waste of money to use it on another engine but would be fun to see results.

Need a thick M10 crush washer...

I have a stack of the amazon sampler packs for stuff like gaskets, washers, clamps, etc. Not my preferred vendor but it's come in handy many times. Pretty sure my copper washer box has some in that exact size.

    2017 Audi Q7 3.0T - Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30, 2k mi

Yes, this is why this is kinda silly. The valve stem seals are known to be bad, so we're doing piston soaks? Like, what? Fix the problem you know is causing oil consumption before trying other solutions on a non-existent issue.

    2017 Audi Q7 3.0T - Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30, 2k mi

Have you replaced the PCV? Done a compression/leakdown test? The pistons on the Mk7R (besides the very first year) are not known for oil consumption problems, the PCV and valve stem seals are far more likely.

    2017 Audi Q7 3.0T - Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30, 2k mi

I wouldn't run Valvoline Restore and Protect on any euro engine, but especially not tuned. You should be increasing HTHS in an engine that's running more power and probably richer. Oil consumption is bad for your cat (which you might not even have), diluted, thin oil is bad for your bottom end...

All this demonstrates is a profound lack of interest in unbiased graph axes. Also, I don't think any of these tires are the ones being discussed in this thread.

Tire Rack tests new CONTINENTAL SecureContact AW ...

yeah, that's the idea. the siping is also good for wet roads. theoretical advantages in terms of grip are rarely ever appreciated in real world commuting. and even then, no all season holds a candle to a good summer tire, you're comparing compounds that are already pretty handicapped.
