Oil drain plug torque value for a 2025 Subaru Crosstrek?

Hello all, I traded in my 2015 Crosstrek for a 2025. I want to do the first OC at approximately 2K miles. On the ‘15 the torque value was 30.8 ft. pds. Can anyone confirm if it’s still the same on the ‘25? Also, 0W-16! Dear Lord, hope I don’t drink it thinking it’s tea.

Getting ready to bleed brakes. Do you shake the bottle of brake fluid?

It’s a new bottle of Lucas DOT3, never opened and still sealed. Are there any pros and cons to shaking the bottle before pouring? Thanks.

I changed the spark plugs on my 2015 Subaru Crosstrek and found oil in one spark plug tube

My heart sank when I saw it. No misfires at all, so I would have never known had I not changed the spark plugs. It's only in one spark plug tube, the front passenger side which is cylinder one. I didn't have the time to replace the valve cover gasket along with tube gaskets so this will be a...

    Rock Auto address observation

I placed an order for spark plugs on Rockauto. The return address on the packaging has "Attn Returns" as part of the address. What are the chances these plugs were returned by someone else and eventually reshipped to me straight from the Returns warehouse? ROCKAUTO XXXXXXXXX Order ATTN RETURNS...

Walmart is now carrying the Tokyo Roki black Subaru oil filter

Went to Walmart to pick up my blue 15208AA15A for my Crosstrek and when I opened the box there was a different part number: 15208AA20A. That's fine with me; it's what the car came with from Japan. Took me by surprise, though.

At what coolant temperature do your cooling fans turn on?

2015 Subaru Crosstrek. 210.20 Fahrenheit and both fans kick on. Once it drops to 203 they turn off. They always turn on and off together. I’ve never seen one run without the other. ETA: this is with the A/C off. If the A/C is on the fans cycle along with the compressor.

Ordered rotors from RockAuto. Received each rotor in different packaging.

Story: I ordered a set of rotors and pads from RockAuto. One of the rotors arrived with a chip on the outer edge, as if it had been dropped, so I returned it for a replacement. The new rotor arrived but in a different box. The initial order arrived in a Centric box, but the replacement...

Will be replacing the front sway bar bushings on my 2015 Subaru Crosstrek.

Knocking/vibration sound when going over minor imperfections at idle speed (in drive but foot off the gas) 105,300 miles. Seems fairly easy, but any tips?

Wear indicator on rear brake pad question

My rear brake pads and discs just arrived from RA and noticed only one pad has a wear indicator. I’m certain it goes on the inside, but does it matter if it goes on the driver or passenger side? 2015 Subaru Crosstrek 105K miles Centric pads and discs. Thanks!

A/C Compressor and main radiator fan both quit at the same time. What are the odds?

2015 Subaru Crosstrek. The main radiator fan does not work. If I idle the car the temp goes up, but the fan does not turn on. It normally turns on around 203 degrees. I let it run up to 215 to see if it turned on and it didn't. The A/C light is lit on the control knob but the compressor is not...

The new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek calls for 0w-16.

I’ve had a 2015 Crosstrek for about 8 years and have always used 0w-20, but always contemplating going with 5w-30. Now Subaru recommends 0w-16 for 2024. I’m in South Florida full time. Would you use their recommendation of 0w-16 or stick with 0w-20? Sure, engineers know best and all that…...

Can I use Lucas Synthetic DOT 3 Brake Fluid instead of the Subaru brand DOT 3 on a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek with 92K miles?

I'm getting ready to do another brake fluid flush and was thinking of going with a different brand. The last two times I used the Subaru OEM DOT 3, but at $14 for a 12oz. bottle (X2 = $28), I'm entertaining other options. Autozone has the Lucas Synthetic 32oz. bottle on clearance for $3.50...

Quaker State 0w-20 for 2015 Subaru Crosstrek?

Greeting everyone, I’m sure this oil and weight has been discussed many times, but I have very little time these days to browse the forums—so my apologies in advance. Walmart no longer carries the regular ST 0w-20 so I’m thinking of switching over to Quaker State 0w-20 on my Subaru Crosstrek...

Is Providence oil from Rural King worth a try?

2012 Ford Escape 2.5 i4 oil on spark plugs

The second and third spark plugs had some oil on the tips and threads. Car has 50k miles. It has a slight jerkiness when cruising around 40mph. I think the jerkiness is gone, but the oil on plugs left me a little worried. Should I lose sleep over this?

There's something I don't understand about the transmission fluid drain and fill process on a 2015 Subaru

2015 Subaru Crosstrek CVT I'm going to drain the fluid from the pan and then add approximately 4 quartz of fluid until it reaches the fill hole. Once the transmission temp gets between 95 and 113F, I'm going to shift from Park to Drive and then back to Park, and then add approximately 1.5...

2015 Subaru Crosstrek differential fluid change observation

Let me start off by saying I almost cracked a rib trying to loosen the front differential fill plug, but the good Lord intervened and I still have my ribs intact. The front diff fluid was nowhere near as dark as the rear fluid. What gives? Moving forward, I'm tempted to change the front once...

    Replacing PCV question

2015 Subaru Crosstrek with 60K miles Subaru manual calls for Three Bond 1324 or equivalent. I'm confused; the equivalent is coming up as either a thread locker or a high temp liquid gasket. What do I need for this application? The Subaru part number is coming up as no longer available...
