2017 Malibu loses communication with fob

2017 Malibu with only 20K. Randomly loses communication with the fob, locking you out or preventing engine from turning on (or off). The back up fob does the same thing at the same time. I found a TSB that matches the problems and it says to replace the “remote control door lock receiver”...

Is this why the rabbits disappeared?

I’ve been having problems with rabbits destroying my lawn and bushes. So far, I’ve tried castor oil. Works for a while. Now I’m using Cayenne pepper, hot sauce with castor oil, and a motion spotlight. I was convinced it was working past couple of days. Last night, I get a ring alert side of the...

Is my HF 4 amp charger maintaining?

I have a 19 Cherokee it has been sitting for a few weeks so I put it on a barely used Harbor Freight 4 amp charger to top off the AGM battery. That seemed to go OK. The display showed the battery went from 12.1 to 14.5 for a while. Then dropped down to 12.9. The next day I went out to check on...

Cartridge filter end cap detached from media

Oil change on a 2013 equinox 2.4. Unscrew the filter housing cap and the oil filter stays behind. That’s odd usually, it’s snapped into the cap. I didn’t think anything about it just pulled it out. It was when I went to install the new filter that I realized the endcap was still snapped into in...

    Battery charger power cord gauge.

I never gave it much thought until I noticed the dedicated power cord used to charge and maintain the Escalade in storage was getting distorted. It’s a batteryminder 1500 connected to the wall outlet in the garage with whatever gauge that cord that is. I’ve never seen a cord do that before...

HF Hercules 3/8 compact impact Question

I have a Milwaukee 1/2 impact but I wanted something smaller so I purchased the HF Hercules 3/8. I really like the auto mode. Very balanced and quiet. Spins bolts off fast, but then slows down perfectly. Surprisingly quiet. But… I’m tortured by that small ring on the tip getting sockets...

    Catch can baffle correct location.

On this catch can the baffle is located on the “In” side coming from the PCV valve. Is that the right spot? It seems like it should be on the out? Or is there another reason they put it on that side. Maybe to protect from the stainless steel filter media going back into the engine?

    AGM charger amps

Researching AGM battery chargers I found this statement in many places.. “The charging current for an Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) battery should be between 10 and 25% of the battery's capacity. For example, a 12V 100 Ah AGM battery should be charged with a 12V battery charger with a current...

    2013 Equinox 2.4 PCV Frozen

Today I found what other equinox and terrain owners warn about. A PCV hose frozen with moisture. Supposedly when this hose freezes it can blow out the rear main seal, cause oil consumption, etc. The fix for many is an oil catch can. But wait, this isn’t oil blow by this is water and...

I’ve been using this pump sprayer for winter applications of salt away. Works good for that. I would also like to use it like a foam cannon on the undercarriage, if that’s possible. Are there any foaming spray nozzles I can get that fit this type of sprayer?

Blend door actuator does not respond to hot/cold knob

Picked up a 2013 equinox 2.4 a month ago. Had a few minor issues so the price was right. Repaired, all was good until I tried the heat. Just blows cold. Further investigation, I see the blend door actuator is unplugged. Ordered a new OEM blend door actuator. Installed, performed a calibration...

    Chrysler V6 dry starts

My 2019 Cherokee with a Chrysler 3.2 has some annoying dry starts. I assume that’s due to the cartridge filter set up with no anti-drain back. Is there a cartridge filter that has ADB or does a better job holding oil in the filter housing?
