Need your input. Wheel curb rash repair

Thanks for all the positive comments. I am really hoping for “best practices “ to blend the paint.

Need your input. Wheel curb rash repair

I have tried but Lexus does not have a specific code for the wheels that I can find.

Need your input. Wheel curb rash repair

Not sure why. Probably less than a gram of material.

Need your input. Wheel curb rash repair

Like the title says. So here is the story so far. Damaged the wheel on a concrete catch basin avoiding a bicyclist. Getting it repaired professionally would be about $250. Decided to try it on my own figuring I could still get it professionally repaired if not happy. Here is what I’ve done so...

    Your favorite Carplay adapter

On my ‘21 MB GLC 300 it connects quickly but I can toggle between CarPlay and native infotainment on the touchscreen. No issues.

    Your favorite Carplay adapter

Here is a link to the one I purchased. Does not run hot (warm). Comes with usb b plug and usb c adapter. Has worked flawlessly for just over a year. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F6NGCQ8X?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2

    Your favorite Carplay adapter

Please clarify. Does your car have wired CarPlay already?

    Your favorite Carplay adapter

Not sure what you are looking for. If you just want to convert your wired CarPlay system to wireless then just about all of them work well. They seem to be in the $40 range. Purchased this for my wife’s Mercedes which had wired CarPlay and now it’s wireless. Works great! In my Lexus I...

    Lexus GS350 (2GR-FSE) Oil Consumption

Not saying a piston soak wouldn’t be a good idea, but Valvoline RnP should have 4 complete oil changes before evaluating the results. Could also try Yamalube in the gas (see previous posts as I have never needed it). Best of luck, I love my GS.

Mach-E front motor dead at 33.5K

Just looked up CR. Seems some of the ratings on new EV vehicles has changed. This is for 2026 models. Remarkable how many show up as 50 or so out of 100 in reliability. Tesla model y was the best.

Thread for photos that 100% do not violate any Terms Of Service, not political, not lewd, no gas price pics etc.

Beautiful work. Can you explain your system? I thought I quoted your speaker fabrication.

    My old LP's

I really enjoy my vinyl, but cannot contemplate spending that much for an album. I suspect they sound awesome!

    My old LP's

Early attempt at improving the dynamic range of LPs. DBX encoded records. Lowers the noise floor and raises peak output. Unfortunately, the only one I have! It really works well although it requires a bit of adjustment to each record depending upon the recording. Over do it results in a...

New life for my FM tuner

Despite being 40 or so years old, the amp and preamp work great! The sound is still amazing. I did have to use Deoxit on some of the controls of the preamp. I have not looked at the capacitors. Prefer to let sleeping dogs lie.

New life for my FM tuner

Yes. Musical Concepts modified DH 220. Old picture. Preamp is no longer on top of the amp.

New life for my FM tuner

I wonder if anyone listens to FM for serious listening? Used to have many classical, jazz and rock stations and the quality seemed better. Might just be a nostalgic view though. I can find no interesting stations although there is one college station and NPR. Mostly commercials. I remember...

New life for my FM tuner

My Adcom GFT 555 tuner has been sitting dormant since I set up my old equipment. FM listening seems to be dying with the advent of streaming but still valid if one can find any decent stations. Usually college. Sound is still below par. Somewhat muddy. Well I improved it drastically by putting...

    Post your latest oil change

2015 Lexus GS 350 95k miles Out: Valvoline Restore and Protect 0w20 Fram Tough Guard filter 5k miles In: HPL Euro 0w20 Fram Titanium. I figured Euro is more robust. Like the Restore and Protect but only want to change once per year. Car uses no oil between changes.

    Simoniz?

They use this in Russell Speeder car wash I use. I saw that type of truck delivering product. I do have to admit it results in a great shine. I have used this place for 8 years. I do use other spray ceramic coatings but really don’t see any difference. Required photo.

List when you found evidence that previous mechanic messed up

I’ve got a few. Mind you, these happened a long time ago on vehicles I bought new. 1992 4Runner had a recall for replacement of front axle grease. While in the shop, I get a call that front brakes are worn and should be replaced. I agree. A week later, front axle is squeaking again so I...
