Very important to keep that MAF clean like others have mentioned. I have had multiple positive experiences over the years replacing or cleaning them.

I have a Shell station on my way to and from work. I specifically use there 87 octane in all my rides. I still run Chevron Techron Complete Fuel System Cleaner every 3-4K in all of them. Maybe it just makes me sleep better at night?

I take it you put the appropriate plugs back in. All new coils or just attacking different cylinders? Did you clean/replace the MAF or throttle body? ALOT more UOA guys will give you feedback than myself. Sorry to hear about some electrical gremlins -- hopefully you have them sorted out. Good...

Your stating that 143K is high mileage on a 5.7L? Those year engines are well documented to run 250K or more with proper maintenance. Owning the same engine -- 5W30 is the sweet spot for 5.7L engines all day!
