Similarly, I buy the OEM Tokio-Roki filters for my WRX. Plastic film sealed, and greased rubber. I don't add any additional lube. I'll have to take a closer look at one next time. I'm not sure how much I compress the seal, but fortunately they seem to seal well.

Sunshades from the parts stores tend to deteriorate and create foam dust (or something?) which rains down onto the dashboard after a few years. Does that happen with Heat Shield's shades?
