    Valvoline Restore and Protect

I don't think the engine is especially dirty because I do know the history of the truck before I bought it. A friend of mine had it for its first 100k miles and he is pretty diligent about maintenance. I think I may just stick with restore and protect for the life of the vehicle going forward...

    Valvoline Restore and Protect

I am going to switch to Valvoline Restore and Protect on my 2016 Ford F-150 with a 5.0L V8 Coyote engine and 112k miles on it. I'm also going to switch to 5W-30 instead of the recommended 5W-20 on the oil cap. How long should I run the first oil change for before draining it? My oil filter will...

NOTICE: The Valvoline isn't on Rollback so I'm assuming it could go down to $34.99 when on sale.

Pennzoil Platinum vs Valvoline Advanced vs Castrol Edge vs Quaker State

Still undecided, the only reason I can see myself spending more money on Valvoline Restore and Protect is because it actively cleans your engine. I'm fairly certain that is something I need so I might do 3-4 oil changes with that and then switch to something in my original post?

Pennzoil Platinum vs Valvoline Advanced vs Castrol Edge vs Quaker State

I just did a bunch of research and bought 6 CarQuest Premium filters which I am going to start running as soon as next week.

Pennzoil Platinum vs Valvoline Advanced vs Castrol Edge vs Quaker State

I am no mechanic and I have been researching oils and filters lately to try and make my Ford last as long as possible. I only thought that Ford recommended 5W-20 for a reason, maybe engine tolerances are too tight for 5W-30? It's because of forums like this that I have learned there are other...

Pennzoil Platinum vs Valvoline Advanced vs Castrol Edge vs Quaker State

Yes, that is what I am trying to go for here with this truck. I would love to get 20+ years out of it and 300,000 miles. Even when its 20 year old I can see myself selling it for $5000, ill just keep it around as a 3rd vehicle for the times I need the bed to move something. If we can make a...

Pennzoil Platinum vs Valvoline Advanced vs Castrol Edge vs Quaker State

Can somebody please explain to me in an educated and informed manor why its better for me to switch my 2016 5.0L Coyote which recommends 5W-20 from the factory over to 5W-30? I don't mean this to be a smart ass I am genuinely interested and quite possibly will make the switch. From what I have...

Pennzoil Platinum vs Valvoline Advanced vs Castrol Edge vs Quaker State

I should have stated that Valvoline Restore and Protect is $50 + tax per 5qt jug in my area bringing it to about $57. I rarely ever see this stuff go on sale up here.

Pennzoil Platinum vs Valvoline Advanced vs Castrol Edge vs Quaker State

Hey guys, I have a 2016 Ford F-150 Super Crew 4x4 with a 5.0L Coyote engine and the truck has 112,000 miles on it. I am pretty religious about changing my oil and I don't put any more than 10,000 - 14,000 miles on the truck a year. For the most part this truck is babied and lives a pretty...

Oil filter for 2016 Ford F150 5.0L Coyote?

Thanks for all the help guys, I do also enjoy "nerding out" about this stuff because you can find diamonds in the rough like this for half the price. I'm not saying that this is every bit as good as a Royal Purple or Amsoil or even a Mobil 1 but it's half the price! For the same $9 each I could...

Oil filter for 2016 Ford F150 5.0L Coyote?

Well I have made my decision and on the way back from dropping my daughter off at swimming I stopped my my local CarQuest. I asked if they had the Premium filter part number 84502 and they had 30 in stock. He gave me them at $9 each if I bought 6 or more of them so I got 6. Once I got home I...

Oil filter for 2016 Ford F150 5.0L Coyote?

I just looked at both the Mobil 1 M1-212 for my F-150 and the M1C-251 for my wifes Toyota Highlander and both Mobil 1 filters say "made in south Korea", I don't see anywhere where is says Highline Warren or Mann + Hummel? As far as stores near me I have a Canadian Tire, Walmart, Napa, Carquest...

Oil filter for 2016 Ford F150 5.0L Coyote?

I am located in Canada and just paid $18.50 CDN for the Mobil 1 extended performance on sale, regular price is $22.50. So whatever that works out to in American dollars but let's say $15 - $20 USD.

Oil filter for 2016 Ford F150 5.0L Coyote?

Hey guys, I have a 2016 Ford F-150 SuperCrew XLT 4x4 with a 5.0L Coyote engine. The truck has 113,000 miles on it and knock on wood doesn't burn oil to my knowledge. This truck lives a pretty pampered life, it hardly ever tows or loaded with with payload, mostly just a daily driver to and from...
