    Ok Petroleum in house brand

I don't mind using name brand but if this in house brand checks out with the right specs it's money saved.

    Valvoline multi-vehicle

My main concern doing it myself is just making sure I don't get air pockets. That's the big reason why I don't attempt it. I know they make air vacuum coolant systems to prevent that but then I'd have to by an air compressor as well, so in this one instance of maintenance it seems like having...

    Valvoline multi-vehicle

Got a 2024 6.6 Duramax and want to change out the coolant. The local Valvoline shop uses the Valvoline Multi-vehicle coolant for everything. I figured since they have the machine to flush out the whole system (radiator, block, heater core (and I would assume oil cooler)) that it would be okay to...

    Mag 1 75w140 full synthetic

Wouldn't be surprised. But I can find this cheaper than supertech so I think I'll switch to this.

    Super Tech full synthetic 15w-40

Just thought I'd pass a long some info about the oil after getting off the phone with mag1. Since the oil has a decent additive pack from the spread sheet page I was curious about the hths value they have. According to the person I talked to it has an hths value of 4.1-4.2 I asked about what...

    MAG1 gear oil

Pretty regularly. Ive got about 21k on the truck now and have drained the front and rear diff 3 times. Though I think now I'll start to extend the servicing out further now since it's starting to break in

    MAG1 gear oil

What do we think about MAG1 GL-5 full synthetic gear oil? Looking at the 75w140. Application is a 2024 Duramax 1 ton. Currently have Amsoil but I can find mag1 cheaper. I figured since it's a Warren product it's probably good. But wanted to get some input from you guys...

    10 speed... ulv or thicker?

Had a guy respond on another forum just now saying he runs tes 668 in his 10l1000 and it shifts like normal.

    10 speed... ulv or thicker?

Thanks everybody for the replies. I currently don't have any concerns with the way the transmission operates but I know these 10l1000 are a problem child for GM. There are some well known 10 speed transmission builders that don't like ulv and use a dex6 or equivalent and don't have any problems...

    10 speed... ulv or thicker?

I'm sure some of you guys have switched from ulv fluids to something with a higher viscosity. I personally have a 10l1000 and I'm trying to decide if I want to keep using ulv or switch to something thicker. Currently using valvoline ulv but thinking about maybe valvoline Maxlife or their...

    MPL Thirty-K 15w40

Yeah I noticed that as well. Which raised a red flag but I thought there were some oils that had barely met the kv100 but still had above average hths numbers. It all seemed too good to be true but I wanted to make sure I wasn't falling into marketing.

    MPL Thirty-K 15w40

What did you not like about the one that you used?

    MPL Thirty-K 15w40

Just came across this oil a couple days ago. Kinda impressive. Anybody have a voa or uoa on it? It's an ester based oil and according to them it is compatible with Diesel engines that require CK-4. Base number and HTHS numbers are impressive in my uneducated opinion...

    CK-4

I just wanna say again thanks for everyone who has replied to my thread. There's a lot of knowledge on BITOG and I'm definitely in my infancy learning it. Ended up reaching out to Castrol on there Vectron 15w40 ck-4 (I always forget they offer Diesel oil) and they stated it has an HTHS of 4.3...
