It's inevitable on all engines. There's just some engines are much worse about it than others. Some can go hundreds of thousands of miles before it becomes a problem and most people ditch the car before that even happens.

Amsoil SS won't prevent Piston Rings from carbon buildup anyways, it will slow it down better than your average oil, but not stop it and differently not reverse it.

Over in the UK they advertise 99% Deposit Removal and 78% Sludge removal. I would say that's why people are seeing both. If I'm reading in between the lines it sounds like it works best in a very hot environment.

According to Gold Eagle/Valvoline comparing Top Tier fuel to Valvoline Restore and Protect Fuel System Cleaner using the ASTM D6201 test it cleans 98% better. If those numbers are legit, it’s seriously strong stuff for injectors and port-injected valves. Time will tell for real world results.

Picked up 10W-40 in a 6 Pack today at Auto Zone, using it in a Scag Zero turn with a Kawasaki V-Twin. Smells the same as the other Grades. Been waiting for 10W-40 Restore and Protect for two years, finally have it now.

Got Valvoline Restore and Protect 10W-40 from Auto Zone today. Using it in the Kawasaki FS691V. Will let everyone know how it works in time.
