15W-40 is almost always good in air-cooled mowers, high HTHS 15W-50 even better because even higher HTHS Mowers don't usually endure cold starts....so its a moot point

Mercedes Benz does not have problems with high saps oils used in their DI engines. They offer the best engine protection - in 229.5, engine protection takes precedence over exhaust treatment equipment protection.

MB 229.5 is a long-drain, high performance oil spec - one of the toughest specs out there.... Mobil 1 0W-40has the highest TBN of any 229.5 oil I know.... (Castrol 0W-40 is barely even the minimum 10 to achieve spec)

Which ones have a higher TBN - Porsche A40 or C40 oils? PS.... Your bros' MB E220 CDI is a diesel - so it uses a different spec oil..... MB 229.5 is about the most stringent spec available from gas engines and is in kind of line with Porsche A40 - lots of similarities.

Already looked at it - and the requirements look like the HTHS spec is the same 3.5 or above - but the C40 has limits on anti-wear additives for exhaust aftertreatment longevity purposes.

but where did you get the @25microns from - is it written somewhere? Box specifies 99% only - with no asterisk or any microns, could be 100 microns.....

Odyssey is miles above your average agm battery, never mind a flooded lead-acid. Personally have 3 of them, and 2 of them are over 10years old performing great.

I would follow the manufacturers OCI recommendations over advertising OCI promises....
