What tool is needed to remove a hub bolt?

Be prepared for a possible fight. Just pulled front axle nuts off my 96 Prelude to do a clutch job. 22 years in place and failed with proper axle nut socket and over 2 foot breaker bar, half-inch impact wrench and plenty of hammering. Ended up cutting them off with a dremel and cutoff wheel. Aaargh

Buying a new Impala after test driving 9 vehicles

Here is the Chevelle when Year One was testing their new larger "old school" wheels. It has the original SS wheels back on now

Buying a new Impala after test driving 9 vehicles

My wife and I recently bought a 2017 LaCrosse. Main car we shopped against was the Impala. They are both really nice cars, with the Buick having the start/stop, as noted above. I'm not a fan of the technology, and would have preferred a way to disable it, but it is essentially seamless.

    So I rented a 2017 Charger R/T- my review

Good review and pretty much my thoughts on my Charger SRT. Really have no complaints with the car. Love big V8s and if you want one, I suspect you should get one soon.

    Mazda 3 and 6?

I have experience with 2 Mazda 3s over the past several years. First was a 1st gen(2007?) hatchback with the 2.3 and manual. Bought new. Kept for about 3 years. Torquey, good handling little car. No issues whatsoever. Second was a 2010 sedan with the 2.0 and auto, bought used about 4 years ago...

Molybdenum, Cam wear and Hemi tick

I'll chime in my experience with what may be the Hemi "tick" with my 2010 Jeep Commander with the 5.7 and MDS. Since new it has had the tick, and sounds like an exhaust leak, but brought it to dealer who stated no exhaust leak, for what it is worth. Now have over 58000 miles on it and still a...

What manual tranny did you cut your teeth on?

1973 Z28 with Muncie M21 4 speed. Bought it in 1981 while in high school and dad taught me how to drive it

JBA or Cherry Bomb Pro mufflers?

I have JBA mufflers on my 69 Mach 1, as part of a JBA catback system, as well as headers. The system sounds good but is extremely loud. However that may partly be due to the 464 CJ stroker that it is trying to muffle.

Which AT Tire for 1/2 Ton?

The Nitto Terra Grapplers look good(aggressive), ride well but don't seem to last. The Toyos on the same vehicle were better. Yoko Geolanders on my Jeep Commander are wearing great and no complaints.

    VitaMix Blenders

We have owned our Vitamix for about 17 years. Solid, well-built machine. Have had to replace blades and the polycarbonate container once. It will liquefy things other blenders could only dream of, and as mentioned above will actually make hot soup. Will buy another, if we ever have to.

Recommendations on a 6-8 thousand dollar car??

I will second the Mazda 3 suggestion. I recently had this exact scenario to replace my step-daughter's car. We found a 2010 Mazda 3. What a great little car. Thinking of buying one myself.

Synthetic Oil and the Hemi Tick

Thanks, NHHEMI. I had read on the Jeep forums about some issues with cracked bolts or exhaust manifolds, also some speculation of noisy emissions valves/pumps being the source. Regardless, the Hemi runs great and if I keep the windows up I don't hear it! As a side note, I turned off the MDS...

Synthetic Oil and the Hemi Tick

To others who have or have owned Hemis: My 2010 Jeep Hemi 5.7 has from day one had a tick that sounds like an exhaust leak, best heard with driver window down, with acceleration. No difference in 4 yrs, 35000 miles and multiple types of oil and filters. Dealer claims no exhaust leak found...

Mich. U.P. Got 3.5 Ft. Snow Dumped

I was born and raised in the Yoop. Really is a unique place. The folks up there consider those of us who have moved to warmer climes to be weak. Oh well, I guess I'm weak, but I enjoy boating, motorcycles and cars and we can do that a whole lot longer here in Georgia.

    Yamaha Waverunner problem

Follow-up on the problem: Brought it to dealer, who found a chunk of wood in the impeller/intake. They said it was just large enough to get stuck between blade and housing. Cleared it and ski is back to normal!

    Yamaha Waverunner problem

Took my 2008 Waverunner FX HO for a ride yesterday. Started and idles fine, but vibrates and minimal forward motion when give it gas. I checked the intake grate and its clear by feel. Seems like it would be a drive issue. ?impeller? Could I limp it to the nearest boat ramp to bring it to dealer...
