If this is the 1100 Virago, wikipedia says it has a compression ratio of 8.3:1. I'd say you'd be plenty safe following the manual and using regular old 87 (R+M/2). When my Bandit (air/oil-cooled 4 cylinder) was stock it probably would have run on skunk urine if that was all that was available.

Things wear out and break. That's not a new thing. Would parts be available at the closest real OPE dealer if you didn't have one to cannibalize?

I love thread necromancy! I also don't remember the last time I changed the oil in my six year old mower. I changed it once or twice when it was new, I think. There is a jug of T6 in the garden shed for top ups. The machine performs fine. Maybe I'll change it this weekend just for grins.

Anyone ever see this stuff in stores? It looks like it is available in most varieties online, so that may be my only source of supply. It's really good stuff, I've choked down more than a couple questionable meals thanks to the goodness of Mrs. Ball's. Anyone else a fan? http://www.mrsballs.com

I would say Pikes Peak International Hillclimb is probably the closest thing in North America. They do a good bit of real roads racing in England and Ireland, with the IOMTT being the most famous.

Please describe what is fairly bad about Bilsteins that are not OE? My Bilstein experience has been with OE pieces, and led me to believe that they would be superlative in most applications.

Many Diesel engines are turbocharged. Turbos spin pretty fast....

I have Cardo Scala rider Q1 teamset. We only use it for rider passenger intercom, it works very well.
