Sell OE wheels and replace with aftermarket?

List on Craigslist and see if you can get good price. Otherwise if you have room to store these, they may help the trade-in or sale value, to have clean new looking OE rims back on the vehicle. Rims do deteriorate from road salt, moisture and chipped paint.

How Did Purulator Quality Control Sink So Fast?

I wouldn't assume this is entirely a recent issue. I have P1 filters going back to 2005 that I cut open and not yet thrown away. I have more on the shelf from last 2 years that I have not yet cut open. Mine have been run up to 10k miles and through some cold winters where start-ups likely...

Interesting OEM KOHLER DIESEL fuel filter cut open

Looks like that the flow path might be thru the fold gaps instead of thru the media. Is the center tube perforated? Is there a bypass valve present? Maybe it was a cost reduction that eliminated the end-caps and adhesive.

    Oriellys Microgard 3600 cut open

Looks substantially better than the WIX sourced ones.

Cut Open PL10241 with wide pleat spacing

I had these older PL10241 pictures that were used on Toyota 3.0L V6. These show wide pleat spacing and have deteriorating pleats near glue. I have five of six with issues next to the seam where the media has fibers separating near the glue, yet not full tear, see last picture. Note the oldest...

    wix makes fram filters?

Would not be surprised if some low volume filter applications are outsourced and made by others. Seems like a had this opinion about some Wix filters in the past.

2013 Toyota Camry LE TGMO 0W-20 UOA 2,570Miles

Oil looks fine. But "20 minutes of warm-up idling" is severe and not recommended. Are you trying to melt ice off every day? My entire drive to work is < 20 minutes and reach normal temperature in ~2 miles even on coldest days.

    PP 0w20, 11,904 Miiles, '09 Fit Sport 1.5L

That is an amazing long OLM OCI. What outside temperature range over the year does the Fit see? I will be pleasantly surprised if my '13 Civic will go >10k OLM.

    GM 1.4 Ecotec Failure

I imagine the ECU codes and OLM state would help greatly here to explain the true cause. Seems like some other failure (coolant, fuel, cooling, etc) occurred which caused the oil to get this state in 13k. How could GM take the chance on substandard FF oil on this engine? I though have...

Why so much plastic in cars today

Carbon fiber reinforced plastic is the future for car chassis and bodies. BWM and Toyota working on mainstreaming this technology. For regions that suffer from corrosion this will be a breakthrough. Vehicles will last much longer, that is until a crash.

    2011 Honda Civic, M1 AFE 0w20 6.7k/40k

All my Civic used was 5w20 which was the factory recommendation. The oil had higher anti-wear additives than your OA. Check my old thread, OA down a bit. Civic OA

    2011 Honda Civic, M1 AFE 0w20 6.7k/40k

Thanks for sharing your results. I wonder if your results still have some new engine trending. I had two OA's from a 2006 Civic (82k M1 and 99k PU) where I saw a big drop in Si (21 to 7)and Na (15 to The other difference in my case was the 5W20 which had higher Zn and P (830 and 850). This...
