    Uknown oil/mile, 118k on 97 Chevy C3500

No history on this truck, replaced the rear diff fluid with Amsoil 75w-140 (SVO). This truck shows to have a Dana 11RG rear diff. This one is used as a cattle feed truck, has a replacement bed with cattle hopper installed. Only leaves the ranch to pickup feed and refill with gas. They are...

    Amsoil AME 15w40, 6k miles, 05 Chevy 2500HD

This oil was in use for right at a year and changed. Now that I know about how many miles they are going a year I went back with the OED line instead of AME. Will try to run that a year as well and re-sample.

    2005 Chevy 2500HD, NP1 TCase, 63K miles

Changed the transfer case at the same time we flushed the AT. Filled this back with Amsoil multi-vehicle synthetic ATF as well.

    2005 Chevy 2500HD, Allison AT, 63K miles

Had a flush done with Amsoil multi-vehicle ATF and a new Wix AT filter installed. The viscosity dropped low enough that it started to impact shifting when pulling a fully loaded trailer. Luckily it doesn't look like any damage was done.

    GM Dex-Cool, 134K miles, 04 Chevy Tahoe

Went back with the Amsoil antifreeze (& Wally distilled water) in this one. Cost was $8 higher and it's supposed to last for 7yrs or 250k miles. If nothing else will be good to compare that to the factory fill of Dex cool. Agreed on the Dex coolant, both of my vehicles are 2004 and were running...

    Amsoil ASL 5w30, 8k miles, 03 Chevy 1500HD

Interesting piece of information I found out from Blackstone, apparently Amsoil is using a silicon additive in the Signature series which is contributing to that number. I'm still planning to test my 04 Tahoe with the paper Wix filter to see how the numbers compare against the previous samples...

    Amsoil ASL 5w30, 8k miles, 03 Chevy 1500HD

Yes, K&N air filters are in both.

    Amsoil ASL 5w30, 9k miles, 05 Tahoe 5.3L

My tahoe had 46ppm at similiar mileage. Both were running K&N filters at the time of the reports. I've since switched back to a paper Wix in my tahoe to see if the silicon numbers drop. Weird thing is I've got a K&N on my 04 Duramax and it hardly shows any silicon.

    Amsoil ASL 5w30, 8k miles, 03 Chevy 1500HD

First fill with Amsoil ASL Signature 5w30 oil and filter, previous fills have always been Valvoline Maxlife (5w or 10w30). Oil was not drained at the time of sample. Engine on this and the 05 Tahoe are both north of 100k, I'm waiting to hear back on the exact numbers.

    Amsoil ASL 5w30, 9k miles, 05 Tahoe 5.3L

This was the first run of Amsoil ASL Signature 5w30, oil and filter were not replaced at the time of test. Previous fills have all been Valvoline Maxlife.

    Castrol GTX 5w30, 7k miles, 05 4Runner

I pressed him a bit more and he said all he knows is that it was a full synthetic. That rules out GTX.

    GM Dex-Cool, 134K miles, 04 Chevy Tahoe

This was the other 2004 coolant sample that I submitted. According to the little prestone tester, this fluid was in better shape than the diesel pickup (5 of 5 balls floating). Obviously there is a lot missing from the hand held tests. Will be replacing the fluid this weekend with either...

    Castrol GTX 5w30, 7k miles, 05 4Runner

My buddy isn't 100% sure what oil was in his truck, but since he uses a local Castrol quick-lube I'm going to assume it's their base GTX product. Replaced the mystery product with Amsoil Signature 5w30 and is going to try running for a full calendar year.

    GM Dex-Cool, 116K miles, 04 Chevy 2500HD

Decided to send in a sample on both my 2004's (Dmax & Tahoe). For grins I also checked these using the little prestone hand tool with the floating balls. This truck only floated 3 of the 5, but according to the report is in much better shape. Note the capacity is 24 quarts, not gallons as...

Amsoil AME 15w40, 12k miles, 04 Duramax LLY

dnewton, certainly agree. I've got a pattern developed on the 9-12k samples that I believe will safely extend up to 20k. I will not be checking back in another 2k miles to continue to see more of the same. Thanks everyone for the replies, I feel much better about pushing forward with this...

Amsoil AME 15w40, 12k miles, 04 Duramax LLY

I got a bit more clarification from Blackstone this morning. 1) The iron high comments were specific to my engine, as the 11ppm is the highest levels it has seen. Not a concern, and they certainly agreed it's nothing to worry about being below universal averages at double the mileage. Wasn't...

Amsoil AME 15w40, 12k miles, 04 Duramax LLY

The 9k and 12k miles are on the same fill of Amsoil AME. The previous 6k and 8k miles were with Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme. I'm very puzzled by Blackstone's comments, and was wondering if I missing something. My Iron level is at 11ppm @ 12k miles, universal average for this engine is 13ppm...

    GM Auto Trak II VOA

Was curious on the make up of the GM Auto Trak II fluid so I sent in a virgin sample to Blackstone.

2005 Chevrolet 2500 HD, 63k Miles on Oil and AT

You are correct, this is the factory fill. From the records I show they did change the spin-on filter once, I think at around 25k. My 04 Dmax is running the Castrol Transynd right now, this 05 is the only one with the factory fill. The UOA vs change is the thing I've been struggling with...
