Check the valve lash and remove the spark arrestor if it has one…. Change the spark plug to the appropriate NGK brand too.

Get some grease from your Honda dealer if it really matters to you. What parts are you greasing anyways?

Not too many gasser turbos in 1985. Maybe you’ve never heard of coked Turbos…. Insufficient Warm-up/Cool-down: Rapid engine shutdown after high-speed operation can cause oil to overheat and coke in the turbocharger.

I agree with Mephy above. If I can add one other thing….make sure that TIME isn’t an issue either. Let the engine idle for a minute or so before shutdown, giving the turbos time to spool down so that they’re not starved of oil if they’re still spinning aggressively. Good habit for any turboed...

Do what you need to do. However you could drive/tow it to your favourite shop, have them remove the alternator, and then you deliver it to the rebuild shop. Return with the rebuild and have your shop do the re-install. Gonna need a new battery too…😑 You ARE driving an awesome vehicle, that is...

Did you check for an adjustment screw?

I’ve been running Saber back when it was called 100/1, so well over 25 years. My sled racing buddies would get some from me and run a race mix usually around 80:1. Currently using Saber in my Stihl/Echo saws and never any issue. 😉

Most saws have an adjustment screw to the bar oil system. Close that after use, if there is an adjustment screw, and see if that makes a difference… Just remember to open it up the next time you use the saw.
