HF Maddox 21 PC. Front Wheel Bearing remover?

I did one side of the vehicle this afternoon. The Astro Pneumatic kit made easy work of it. High grade bolt, the bearing came out, and the new one back in effortlessly. Stay away from the HF Maddox version. It's about 47 bucks more and lower quality.

HF Maddox 21 PC. Front Wheel Bearing remover?

I ordered some thrust ball bearings to use between the washers in the kit. I tried to get the ones in this video but instead taking my chances with some cheaper ones on Amazon.

HF Maddox 21 PC. Front Wheel Bearing remover?

Thanks! Been doing some research. The HF kit overpriced. For less money the astro pneumatic kit comes with higher grade bolt and nut with more threadings. I just ordered it. 73 bucks vs 119 for HF. This video convinced me. Youtube: Harbor Freight vs Astro wheel bearing adapter kit

HF Maddox 21 PC. Front Wheel Bearing remover?

Thanks. Yes I tried all three local part stores. No luck, 2 said they didn't carry and the other said "it's currently being borrowed." I figured I'll buy an inexpensive kit and be done with it. I did hear about thread failures being common in these cheap tools. Any link to high grade replacement...

Post Your Latest Power Steering Fluid Change

Changed the power steering fluid on wife's 2007 Sonata. It was pretty disgusting, never been changed (my bad). I used Lubegard 23232 Complete Synthetic Power Steering Fluid.

HF Maddox 21 PC. Front Wheel Bearing remover?

Greetings gentlemen. I changed the wheel hub/bearing on wife's 2007 Sonata. Those were easy, yank them out and bolt back on. Will be doing the front bearings and don't plan on buying a press. HF sells the 21 pc bearing removing kit for 119 bucks. Maddox 21 pc, The harbor freight version I've...

    Coated rotors, do they work?

This is my first time using coated rotors. I got the NAPA ultra premium coated. My oem ones are 3 years old and got very crusty. Up here in the rust belt I usually change brakes when there's still most of the meat left on them because of corrosion issues on pad backing and rotors. Does that...

    Wagner OEX pads, poor performance

I thought the same thing (about decreased surface area of the pads) when I bought them. I got 17K miles on my front ones, didn't notice difference in performance in my Ram pickup.

Yeah I like doing the cavity spraying in the hottest, most miserable summer days. I know it's doing the most creeping.

    Strut spring compressor questions

I usually buy them loaded now, but I used to pay a mechanic 20 bucks to load them for me. I've loaded one set years ago and didn't think it was worth the trouble.

Nevermind. I pulled the trigger and bought it. Black friday sale for 108 on Tooltopia. Amazon wanted 150.

    Preferred 1/4 torque wrench?

I've been using Precision instruments 1/2 in and 3/8in split beam torque wrenches. I'm a fan of this style. Easy to set and I don't have to worry about releasing the tension afterwards. I've never owned a 1/4in torque wrench and thinking of getting one for more delicate torque settings. Any...

Woolwax for inside rocker panels, etc?

It's thicker than FF. I've used both. I wouldn't use it inside doors or panels. I prefer to use tranny fluid or others that are lighter and penetrate better. I bought a gallon of this product last year and used inside panels.

Any dodge ram 1500 3.6 Penstar owners here?

Old thread but just wanted to update. I bought the truck back in May 2018. 57k miles now. Love this truck. Great ride, excellent mileage (especially after driving my old 3rd gen Ram/Hemi for 14 years 😄 ) . I get about the same mileage as my wife's little Sonata. Oil changes are easy. Gonna wait...
