Have you grown to dislike working from home?

Best jobs are the ones you can leave at work. No "projects", no "due dates", etc. Go to work, make pizzas, go home. Go to work, plumb some stuff, go home (my son has said he wants to be a plumber instead of going to college) etc.

Have you grown to dislike working from home?

After our first year of 100% WFH my boss talked to all of us together and thanked everyone...our production had actually stayed the same and/or gone up (depending on the metric) To me, its a give and take - I may step away at 2PM to grab something from the grocery store, etc. But I will also be...

    Lexus ES350 spark plug change

The wheel bearing on my 2001 Infiniti went kaput while I was on a long trip. The bearing itself was $50, the labor to replace it was 300-ish. Had I been able to get the hub w/bearing, the labor would have been half the cost. This is like how ball joints are becoming "no longer...

Have you grown to dislike working from home?

WFH 100% since "2 weeks to flatten the curve" Ive worked from home before, but not on a regular basis. Im a software developer with a laptop...I can do my job pretty much anywhere. I always found it odd that "face time" was a big deal for my company, considering the only people that ever saw me...

Insane Electric Rate Increase $508.68/1522 kWh

Living in CT we have some of the highest electric rates in the country, but solar never made sense for me. ~$20K out-pay for the system, my average electric bill is about 275/month. Looking at about a 7 year payback. AFAIK the panels are warrantied for 10, so 3 years of "profit" then if...

    toyota v6 2012 80kmi - oil/filter change frequency

We have a 2015 Lexus ES350, Toyota spec is 10K mile OCI. After warranty I started changing the oil myself with M1 0W-20 EP. Car gets about 9K miles per year, but because we are in CT we have both ends of temp extremes (cold, hot). I am now going to twice a year oil changes, once a year filter...

    Lexus ES350 spark plug change

I tend to disagree...my parents and in-laws both own Avalons, which are ES350s with a Toyota badge. Everything is in the same spot, so 'easier to work on' in the Lexus? Doubtful. Now, there may be plenty of other luxury vs non vehicles out there that it differs, but in the Honda Accord vs Acura...

    Lexus ES350 spark plug change

We have a 2015 ES350 and I am regularly astounded by the mpg. Wife drives it, maybe 60/40 highway/city and we're still getting 23-25mpg on winter gas. It's given us 0 issues in the 7 years we've owned it...haven't even had to change the brakes yet (60K miles). Oil changes and a set of tires is it.

What am I limited to for EV charging on this sub panel?

Based on the labels of the breakers in OPs subpanel, there are a lot of "large" appliances that may or may not be running throughout the day (microwave, dryer, etc). and overnight (fridge, etc). Plus it looks like a lot of stacked breakers if Im seeing it correctly. On top of possibly...

    Amsoil Engine Tear Down Pics

Slight tangent, but subscribe to that channel and watch his weekly teardowns (and sometimes mid-week videos too) I look forward to the teardown videos every Saturday, great content.

What am I limited to for EV charging on this sub panel?

My sister has a Model S and I was under the impression that it somehow auto negotiates the charge amperage. My brother in law had my dad install a dedicated 50A circuit if they wanted to charge at home.

    New Quaker State Ultimate Protection

2 of my 3 vehicles run similar to that: my 2017 RAM 1500 (with 5.7L Hemi) and 2011 G37. The G is known to be hard on oil, so I change it every 6 months regardless of mileage. The RAM has a history of possible cam/lifter issues (depending on part quality), so Ive resorted to changing that every 6...

    New Quaker State Ultimate Protection

That's good, Im actually changing the Lexus oil later this week, so Ill get to watch out for it too. Car needs 6.something quarts, I have about 2 quarts of the non-Tri-Action version left, Ill make up the rest with the Tri-Action. Once I move to 6 month changes Ill just get whatever 0W-20...

    New Quaker State Ultimate Protection

I haven't used the Tri-Action labelled version yet. Seen people not happy about it on BITOG, but without personal experience Im just relaying that notion. For all I know its fine (I mean, its a Toyota engine so ...) Lexus specs a 10K mile OCI which I was never happy about (except when it was...

What am I limited to for EV charging on this sub panel?

Did you install the subpanel? I think first thing Id do is verify correct wiring size into the sub-panel.

Post your latest oil purchase or even filter.

Scavenged 4 Ultra XG2 from my local Walmarts, regular price ($8.97 each). All of them are wire backed (which apparently might be normal? Someone here mentioned they haven't changed the XG2 from original media). There are some left which I may go grab just to have them, but I only use one per year.

    New Quaker State Ultimate Protection

Ive been using M1 0W-20 in our 2015 ES350 since we got it, but not sure about the whole "Tri Action" version now. May switch to something else come next oil change. Would be interesting to see if the M1 0W-16 is actually better.

    Firearms storage

I have mine in a safe of some variety (EDC goes into a single pistol biometric safe near the bed, the rest go into a large "24 gun" safe), but I have kids,. If I didn't have kids, Id probably have most of them in a big safe anyway, and a nightstand pistol in a drawer by my bed.

    Vibration while accelerating during turn

Had an issue with vibration wheel turning left at just the right (wrong) amount of steering input. Too much or too little, smooth as silk. Just that spot? Felt like rumble strips. Turned out to be a shot right front wheel bearing.
