Sorry for my delay. I missed your question. According to all service records, the garage the owner used made oil changes using Castrol Edge A3/B4 5w-30. OCIs were in the 6k - 9k mile range.

If it's a larger, fuel injected engine, especially in a vehcile, I would also go as far as 3 years. 2 years if it's a small carburated engine, like a snow thrower or lawn mower, etc.

Scotty Kilmer has said in a couple videos that using 0W16 would help with the OD problem that lots of Honda engines deal with. Any evidence for this being true? I have an 18 Honda CRV 1.5L that is prone to such problems.

Shops will over estimate the amount of time it takes to do these jobs, and will markup the parts by a factor to 2x to 3x actual cost. I would avoid that shop moving forward.

It looks to me that the marine part is referring to the two studs. All of the connects on my boat are ring connectors that require the stud to wingnut or nut onto. These would ideal for aboat where the battery only has the two posts, no studz.
