09 Mini Cooper S...I hate this thing...won't start

So a little back story... My dad bough this thing back in 2012 and has been pretty problem free up until about the last 2 years. He didn't really drive it a whole bunch so as of right now it only has 69k miles on it. It started running rough one day and my brother ended up changing the spark...

Bought a new car, Camry hybrid

The engine will run about 99.9% of the time. It can go maybe a mile on full electric below 45 mph but any slight throttle input will kick the engine on. It does shut off every time you fully let off the throttle tho. I'm about 6k miles into a 2022 Camry LE hybrid and so far I'm averaging 49 -...

Is a hybrid right for my commute?

120 round trip. I stated that before. Sorry for the confusion.

Is a hybrid right for my commute?

Yeah it’s about 125 round trip depending on which route I take. I work shift work, so in a 2 week period I only work 7 days. Now usually once a year we’ll do a 60 day turnaround at work then I’m working 14 on 1 off. That’s when I really rack up the miles quickly.

Is a hybrid right for my commute?

So almost a year later, I finally went ahead and got a hybrid. Picked up a certified used Camry LE with only 5k miles on it. I was going to order a SE to get the color I wanted, but I ended up liking the way this one drove and couldn't see spending the extra money for the SE. The hub caps don't...

    Car dealer Sticker markup ...

I bought a new Dodge Charger R/T about 6 months ago and got $1500 off msrp. I traded in a 2019 F150 that I paid $37k for back in 2019 and put 80k miles on it and they gave me $35k on trade. Just traded in my wife's 2020 Suburban RST for a new Honda Odyssey and paid msrp for that one. We had to...

    Post your latest oil change

I believe it was like 10 bucks at my local Walmart. It was the only thing they had in stock that would fit, although, a lot of the online tools didn't list any filter that would "fit"

    Post your latest oil change

2021 Dodge Charger R/T 5000 miles Out: Factory fill In: Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w-20, Factory Mopar filter Bought this thing brand new on 1/28/22 with 3 miles on the odo. 5000 miles in exactly 3 months. Oil percentage was only at 50%. Probably going to stick with the PUP and 5k changes.

Ford 2.7L Ecoboost - API SP vs Ford WSS-M2C961-A1 + Pennzoil

I'm 55k miles in on my 2019 F-150 with the 2.7 and so far I've used Havoline Pro DS (6qt box), Magnatec, and currently running Valvoline Extended Protection. The Havoline is by far the best bang for the buck as far as price and convenience, but it started getting harder to find. My 3 local...

Is a hybrid right for my commute?

Why would insurance be higher on the hybrid? If you get in a wreck is the exact same body panels, and I would think they would think a hybrid owner would be a more “responsible” driver.

Is a hybrid right for my commute?

No HOV lanes here and I never sit in traffic.

    New Valvoline Extended Protection

Oil pickens is getting quite slim at my local wal mart...They were out of my usual so I picked some of this stuff up in 0w-20 for the wife's 6.2l suburban. They never seem to run out of mobil one tho, I swear half of the shelf space if not more is dedicated to all flavors of it.

Is a hybrid right for my commute?

So back to my main question... All I was basically wondering was how does a hybrid drive on long interstate distances vs. a regular 4 or 6 cyl engine. I'm not buying a 20 year old beater, and yes around here it will be a beater. I make too much money to drive around in **** box, plus I have to...

Is a hybrid right for my commute?

I think it's a psychological thing too...seeing every fill up inching closer to $100 (my wife's car is $100 to fill up from empty) knowing that I could probably be driving the same amount of miles per tank I am now on 12 gallons versus 23. Is $3000 a year saved gonna have THAT dramatic of an...

Is a hybrid right for my commute?

I actually thought about holding off to see what the Maverick is going to do, but I'm afraid it's going to be too cramped on the inside for me. A prius is out of the question, I couldn't see myself driving one of those. I'm not a fan of VW anything. I knew some one with a TDI and had nothing...

Is a hybrid right for my commute?

Dealers aren't price gouging out here (for new cars at least) so that's nice. I deff would not pay over msrp for anything. One dealer offered me 1k less than what I paid for the truck 2 years ago, that alone is hard to pass up. Not only would I be saving $200 a month on gas plus I'd save a nice...

Is a hybrid right for my commute?

Should be closer to $200 @ 45 mpg.

Is a hybrid right for my commute?

oops that's what I meant. I love where I live and I love where I work...changing either of those is not an option. Yes 65 one way, I can't math. My last fill up was $3.53 and cost $82.30. And I do that at least once a week, sometimes twice. I don't see gas getting any cheaper any time soon. I...

Is a hybrid right for my commute?

So I know the hybrids excel in city driving, but I'm wondering how one would do on my mainly highway commute. Right now I'm driving a 2019 F150 crewcab with the 2.7l 2wd. I average 21 - 23 mpg per tank, anywhere from 480 to 520 miles. I love the truck for the interior room, but I never really...

    03 lesabre for hwy cruiser?

I don't see it as a cost saving measure all that much. I get 22/23 mpg in the truck, so even if the beater would get 30, it's not really that big of a jump. I can't imagine insurance being all that much on it either. I would like this truck to last me a while and not be completely worthless...
