Doesn't make a difference either way, in my opinion. Done right, the traditional method of installing flush doesn't leak, so I don't try to reinvent the wheel by offsetting.
Yup.
I work for a local municipality, writing up residential building permits and conducting site inspections. This is a rural area where the wealthy come to buy large parcels to split up/profit on as well as build their dream homes. Homes WELL into the millions.
They frequently meet up in...
Likely a piece of debris stuck in a lifter check valve, letting it bleed down after shutdown and pumping up after a few seconds on startup.
It may resolve itself eventually. Else, you'll have to take it out, disassemble, and clean it out.
Rotating the cams are part of the procedure. I'm guessing that the 60 btdc position puts all pistons below the deck so that valve contact isn't possible while rotating cams.
I'm guessing it's fine. If the belt is on and you want to confirm it's ok before you continue, crank the engine. You'll...
Frequent trading is going to happen when large scale items like suspension are overlooked during test drive/before purchase. Probably hard to find something you actually like.
I personally can't imagine how someone otherwise so critical could miss that.
You should probably just stick to what...
The problem is actually achieving the weight transfer when there is no grip and can't get moving to begin with.
That said, it's quite doable. I drove my 2011 Crown Vic daily for 11 years through Wisconsin winters. In the bad stuff, the trick is to plan ahead and avoid coming to a complete stop...
My opinion is that the fleet versions of these cars are total penalty boxes and no fun to live with on a daily basis. Uncomfortable, noisy, lacking in features. However, it seems that some people actually prefer that. Depends on your expectations.
As far as what to look out for:
HVAC issues...
As mentioned, rotor is stuck on the parking brake shoes. If you pry the rotor off, you might wreck all of the parking brake hardware.
Usually there is a little window on the backing plate which allows you to back off the parking brake shoe adjuster.
This is what I would've done. Heat, pry, turn, pry, turn, pry, turn, etc. Reheat, pry, turn, pry, turn, etc.
It'll walk off. Just have to feel the limits of the prying effort.
I don't know of any oil burning pentastars so far.
Every engine has some sort of flaw. The oil cooler is the main one here and I consider the oil cooler thing to be small potatoes. It's external to the engine and easy to deal with.
There's nothing a C4 does that a C5 doesn't do better. By quite a large margin. Relative to the C5, the C4 is very unrefined. Even in perfect condition, a C4 rides very harsh, rattles, doesn't perform as well, and overall is poorly screwed together. Literally, as in wood screws holding the...
My experience tells me that MOST of the electronic ignition systems weren't all that bad. However, lack of decent aftermarket replacement parts plagued all of them. First ECU or ballast resistor could last a good long time. After failure of the original, you could be replacing them every year or...
