Minimizing emissions - which oil or additives?

I've heard a fresh oil change before testing and a bottle of this https://www.amsoil.com/lit/databulletins/g1135_rev2_07.pdf will help. • Reduced emissions • hydrocarbons (HC) up to 15% • carbon monoxide (CO) up to 26% • nitrous oxides (NOx) up to 17%

    Road Hazard Warranties

I don't know that I've ever seen a tire that came free with a pro-rated road hazard warranty. They nearly all come with a pro-rated manufacturing defect warranty.

    Best Synthetic Oil?

For me, published undisputed comparative testing by non profit independant laboratories using ASTM test methods, recommended and warranted extended oil change intervals, typical property or data sheets, lower operating temperatures, more performance, better shifting, better mileage, company...

Amsoil PI has been reformulated and improved

My son always got 24 mpg in his 12,000 mile 2006 Honda Civic Si like clockwork. He put in the API and got 25 on his next tank and 26 on this last one. I got a big "Thanks Dad" for the increase. This is the 3rd vehicle we've seen noticeable increases on. Well worth the $7 every 4,000 miles. I put...

Oil recommendations for a 2007 Malibu

I use the best synthetic oil and filters (like mrsilv04) and change it once a year. This is how I do it with my own vehicles. And I just sold my 1983 Chevy. Still have my 1993 Ford, 1997 Chevy and 2006 Honda. I add no oil between changes.

how to switch R-12 A/C system to R134a?

You might be able to use a R12 replacement that is less expensive than 134a and you don't have to do a conversion. Hydrocarbon refrigerants such as Duracool are used in Canada as they have outlawed freon. I can ship you some if not available in your area. PM me for details.

    Does A Full-Synthetic Make A Cooler Dispensable???

I would tend to agree. Synthetics generally run cooler and have provide higher temperature protection.

    Oils, So many! Types

ERicthepig, I don't think Exxon recommends Mobil 1 for extended drain intervals. Mobil 1 EP is only 15,000 miles in the rare occasion that your car is out of existing warranty, and then only for normal driving or 1 year, whichever occurs first.

    Walmart 0w30 synthetic specs

It probably won't matter for short oil change intervals for those who lease their cars or just keep them a few years. I sometimes wonder why Wal-mart is in the oil relabeling business. They must make more profit on their own oils than the brand names they stock. So with a huge amount of name...

    Walmart 0w30 synthetic specs

Wal-Mart likely goes with the lowest bidder that meets whatever specs are required. Not exactly confidence inspiring.

    What Oil Weight?

I'd stick with the 5W30 weight that Ford recommends for all temperatures, especially since it hasn't smoked or used a drop of oil the past 1,000 miles.
