    Post your latest oil purchase or even filter.

    Just changed oil in the wife's '22 Tucson. I used Kirkland 0W-20 and some 5W-30 left over from an Ecoboost oil change. I used a Wix filter. I also rotated the tires. (20k) I'm happy to report there was no drama.

    Why change your own oil?

    I've had to use a hammer and chisel to get the oil filter base off the car. I've had to clean grease off the steering wheel, console, door handle, etc. I don't even use the free initial oil changes when I buy a new vehicle. It's not convenient and I don't trust them.

    My last German car was a '74 Super Beetle. The best mechanic I know won't work on BMW's. Beyond the DIY challenges, they just don't seem to ve reliable, which is high in my priority list.

    I bought a Whirlpool from Fleet Farm. It worked every bit as well as our Culligan for the 6-7 years we lived in that house so I repeated the process in our new house and it's working well too. I added a $200 RO system for drinking and we're set up for under $900.

    This truck driver is paid by the hour. Every time I slow down I get a raise! The world is full of fools, elderly, and distracted drivers. I just get over it.
