    Dude, Wal-Mart Rocks!!

I think the best walmart deal on oil I ever ran into was Valvoline Maxlife 5w-30 and 10w-30 for $11.50 for the 5 quart jug. I grabbed four jugs. Couple days later hit a different Walmart hoping to find some more but the price was $20. easy come easy go I suppose.

why do you guys stash oil?

I didn't stash anything until I joined BITOG. Then I read on here that Dollar Tree was going to stop carrying Trop Artic semi-syn so I cleared out all of the Dollar Trees within a 50 mile radius. That was about sixty quarts. Then I read on here that GC was switching its formula from the green...

    smoothest ride...Cooper CS4 or Michelin MXV4?

I don't have any experience wit the Coopers, but the Michelins came on my 2004 Civic from the factory. They are awful in the rain. They did last about 60,000 miles though.

fresh oil change on VW, now tons of smoke

I wish I had captured a video via my phone. It was the most smoke I've ever seen billowing out of an exhaust. If you stood ten feet behind it you'd disappear into the cloud.

how long can an engine go without an oil change?

My sister's ex-boyfriend bought a brand new Tundra and went 40K without lifting the hood before the engine seized. Kid thought that oil changes were only for cars from the 80s. I maintain a rental car fleet and I've seen at least a dozen cars come through that were on the factory fill & filter...

fresh oil change on VW, now tons of smoke

Scenario: 2001 VW Jetta w/2.0 NA engine, 210,000 miles. Prior oil used was apparently a Castrol 20w-50. Did a fresh oil change with Chevron Delo 400 15w40 and a Champ Labs E-Core filter. Started car and now it blows crazy amounts of blue/grey smoke, but idles just fine. My guess is a piston...

Kreen on a relatively clean engine?

On the form where it asked for a business name, I just typed in the name of my work. They even shipped it to my home address.

2008 Ford Escape 4 cyl driven w/o oil in it

We've had a couple cars come through my work with oil pressure lights on and absolutely no oil in the pan that are still chugging along after a filter change and oil top off. All of them were Hondas though. Keep your fingers crossed!

How many of you have an aftermarket exhaust...

I have a Comptech catback unit on my 2004 Civic, but to be honest I've sort of grown out of loud exhausts and prefer the silence of the OEM units on my other two cars.
