Here's my orange dial titanium diver.

Nice. I have 3 Ecodrives in my collection. I'll try to find some pictures.

Danco Shower Cartridge - Worth Using

I had to cut the collar off my shower faucet and you can get a new one from Amazon. I used a Danco a few years ago and it's still working; not leaking. Edit: I got a Delta for free in the mail because they have a lifetime warranty but haven't used it yet.

    Non-Dexos oil in 5.3L Silverado?

I think that the latest Dexos spec is more for turbocharged with direct injection motors. Personally, I would use it.

Dreaded 9th gen Malibu 3rd brake light issue.

Caulking strips is what we used at the body shop. I forgot about this stuff. Wrap a little around the studs on the light so it seals up any holes where the light attaches to the body.

Dreaded 9th gen Malibu 3rd brake light issue.

JB Weld makes a special two part clear epoxy just for plastic. That's how I would fix it if it's just a crack.

End of year deal on GMC Terrain

The fluid changes on GM cars are about as straight-forward as it gets for a DIYer. Plug on the bottom of the trans, fill plug near LH axle (usually have to remove the front tire for access). Drain and add fluid until it runs out of fill/level plug, start the car and add until it runs out with...

End of year deal on GMC Terrain

Nice. I almost bought an Equinox and looked at those when I got my Cadillac XT4 but the only thing that stopped me was the Caddy was assembled in the USA. Very nice car, though. I don't remember which transmission is in that but drain and fill it every 30,000 or so miles. My Caddy had dirty...

How can you possibly trust your tire gauge?

I use Milton pencil gauges and the one I keep in the car is 30 years old, maybe older. It's within a couple pounds of the pressure monitor on my car ('23 Caddy XT4).

Need an oil recommendation - lost an engine using VR1

Just an educated guess but that motor needs 20W-50, esp. when doing dyno runs at full power like that.

Body shop owner telling me this is rust popping up a year after he repaired the car.

The body shop probably used an aftermarket bedside. Nowadays they fit well but the quality can still be sketchy with the use of thin and/or low quality steel.

Body shop owner telling me this is rust popping up a year after he repaired the car.

Most body shops don't guarantee rust repairs anyways.

Help me pick a Diff Fluid, 23 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4

FWIW the G80 rear in my 2012 Silverado doesn't use friction modifier either. I just use the cheap NAPA brand 80W-90 when it's on sale and change it every 25,000 miles.

    Ford 6F35 Transmission Failure

I wonder if those would shift better/last longer with ULV fluid, but I'm just brainstorming out loud. FWIW my wife had a '12 Equinox FWD six speed and it was decent. No issues.

Test drove a $2500 Grand Marquis today

That's pretty high for $2,500. I'm wondering what the dealer gave the previous owner for trade. Anyways, I would offer maybe $1,500 and go from there if there's no rusted out brake lines, etc. Check that exhaust, too. Like someone mentioned, it could be a stolen cat.

Portable Generators - 15W40 in freezing weather?

I think 15W-40 should work. FWIW I use NAPA brand 10W-30 full syn in my generator and sometimes in my Briggs 17.5 riding mower.

Tire options. What would you go for?

For my truck (GMT900) I got General Grabbers. They were on the truck when it was new and the tires rode nice, got decent traction and lasted 40,000 miles. Only difference was these Grabbers are made in USA and the stock ones were MX.

    96 Chevrolet Celebrity. Opinions?

The 3.1 motor was good and so was the TH125 (I think) transmission. I'm a huge GM fan, though.

    More Consumer Reports nonsense, IMO

The only cars I've never had any issue with in the first 5 years were a 2018 Mustang GT I bought new and my 2012 Silverado I bought new in 2012. Even the new Cadillac had its first issue (EVAP code and they replaced the purge pump under warranty). The Silverado had only one CEL for a fuel tank...

Drain plug question - what actually is leaking, threads or mating suface washer to pan?

Drain Plug I don't know if this is called an integrated gasket or technically an o-ring plug, but I have used these forever w/o problems and you can reuse it indefinitely.
