Is my daughter getting "took" - door ding repair

I used to work in a body shop back in the 1980s and no one would remove the door to fix a ding. It gets mudded, spotted in and blended. Should be no more than $600 USD even with todays insane rates.

Do you have a go to rotor/pads combo you like?

Raybestos Element 3coated rotors and Akebono pads from Rockauto. Never had any problems with these.

    Engine Break-in

Another thing I'll add is I have started changing trans fluid early after seeing dark Dex-6 come out when I took a sample. I changed the fluid in my 2023 Caddy XT4 at 21,000 miles. These new multi-speed transmissions and CVTs need more frequent service.

    Hose end inflator with gauge

Gauge After reading this, I realized I wanted an inflator too. I ordered the Milton 0-60 car inflator but I see the OP already has one like this.

    Engine Break-in

When I bought my 2023 Cadillac XT4 with GM's 2.0L turbo, it didn't shift into 9th speed until it had 500 miles. I was making an interstate trip and I noticed it shift. I looked at the speedo and I noticed it had 500 miles.

What were the worst years for Subaru head gaskets?

Just oil changes and brakes. It was a lot of highway miles but still it held up well.

What were the worst years for Subaru head gaskets?

FWIW there was a 2018 Subaru Forester (I think 2.5L) in the family and she went over 100,000 miles without any issues at all. They seem pretty solid and the Forester has decent room inside for tall people.

MT621 is the number for my E168 movement and some others. I don't know if you can retrofit a newer battery into an older movement. Here's a link to the picture. Battery

    Insane CA DMV Registration Tax

Virginia is kind of high, but I have a choice to buy an old POS where the tax is cheap. I paid $1,300 personal property tax for a '23 Cadillac, '18 Cherokee, '12 Chevy truck, '99 Chaparral boat w/trailer. License plates are in addition to that but they're not too bad.

    Citizen solar watch

Yep. I just did one and the only special thing is lining up the little tab on the back of the battery with the slot. Dang thing is tiny, though.

    Citizen solar watch

I just put a rechargeable battery in my oldest Ecodrive. It lasted 11 years before it started losing time but the key is to set those watches in a window sill or somewhere they can keep a full charge. I didn't do that with mine.
