Ford 2 valve 4.6 motors were really critical to get the right torque. I would do 20# with a little antiseize. No problems w/spitting plugs so I would take an educated guess at the same for your Benz.
It's a contract with risk/rewards, so the bank takes its chances if it doesn't check out the borrower well enough. Looking from an objective as I can viewpoint.
I'm wondering if she went the GM recommended interval (at the time). My wife had a 2012 Equinox 2.4L and I used Rotella 10W-30 truck oil and changed it every 3,000 miles because it was direct injection and I was afraid of dilution. It never used any oil.
Electronics repair in Richmond, VA I used these guys and they told me (although they don't advertise it) that they can fix most anything auto electronics related when I took my speedo cluster in for repairs about 6 years ago. It still works to this day (2000 Mustang GT).
2018 Cherokee 2.4 Multiair: bought new, 66,000 miles with 0W-20 and now 5W-30 NAPA synthetic oil since it had about 60K miles. 2012 Silverado, bought new and have used 10W-30 NAPA synthetic and sometimes 5W-30. Oil changed every 3-4,000 miles.
I buy only union made from the USA or Canada. Canada is/was a good trading partner as they buy a lot of USA products. Sadly, times are changing but I'm all for Canadian production being treated the same as US when considering a domestic product. If it weren't for oil products, the USA would...
Have you tried using premium gas and cleaning the MAF sensor? There is a special spray can cleaner for them you can get at the parts store. Install a fresh, name brand air filter too.
FWIW I test drove the 2022 Equinox and liked it but ended up with a Cadillac XT4 AWD because it wasn't that much more expensive and it was also American made. They're discontinuing the XT4 after this year so maybe a deal to be had?
I didn't realize those were that bad even with maintenance. I think I would trade it in once they replaced the motor. FWIW my GM products have all been decent but they need oil and transmission service way before the book tells you to do it. The book calls for trans at 45,000 miles and the...
My guess is that it would probably be ok, but I change the oil in my D.I. 2.0 Cadillac XT-4 at 3,500 miles because I get oil cheap on sale at NAPA (0W-20 synthetic store brand) and use AC Delco filters from the Rock at under 5 bucks. It costs give or take $30 for an oil change for me to DIY...
I'll be lost if my 2012 Chevy truck (ext. cab w/4.3 iron block six cylinder) dies before me. Those were extremely reliable, got respectable mileage and were powerful enough to do what I need it to accomplish. It can't be replaced with anything modern.
Here's from my local Chevy dealer right down the road. I would definitely drive this but I'm keeping my 2012 Chevy truck until it dies.Colorado Pickup Truck. Keep in mind a fullsize gets about the same fuel mileage.
How did you fix your death wobble? Is that a loose ball joint or tie rod issue? I recommend heavy duty shocks for all pickup trucks. They take virtually all the bounce out of your ride and gives you a firm but good ride.
