been looking at putting Pennzoil ultra platinum 5w-30 in my 2024 Subaru cross trek (calls for 0w-16 ) like the PUP for its good flow characteristics and apparent quick pumpability, does anyone know of the current hths of this oil? as its not published in the pds.,

Just to note, Royal Purple makes a fine 0w-40 also, there other brands can be found Schaeffer's, Amsoil etc,no sense getting hung up on any popular brand, , lots of good choices and viscositys to choose from.

I would think about 5k of a variety of driving tops or even a bit less if engine is dirty looking through fill hole ( of a viscosity of your choice or look at owner's manual) , and make sure you install a new filter, as in a high capacity one & run a decent fuel.injector before you change oil...

the Subaru factory engine oil is made by Idemitsu and is a good oil, just have it done before your trip, Valvoline EP Pennzoil Ultra are also fine oils to use at that mileage or ask the dealer lead mechanic about a 5w-30 oil if concerned, no reason to use Mobil ESP in your case. Just stay up...

keeping unused sealed in container (never opened) at a constant room temperature on a shelve the oil can last quite some time, 5-8 years ,and yes gently shaking once in a while upside down for a couple of minutes can help your stash last, though the specifications can be somewhat outdated over...

was looking at welding equip. at fleet farm and seen Fourney brand, made in Italy, looked quite decent for the money, around 350 dollars or so.

try Quaker State Ultimate 5w-30 if looking for the best bang for the money, Walmart has it at a good price and its good oil.

most oils can be compatible, why not just get more Schaeffer's supreme 7000, it is a good oil or for a bit more the 9000 series full synthetic. I believe that Deutz are known for oil consumption as they are also air cooled and run warm.

why not run Royal Purple pcmo 5w-30,,hths is 3.1 or Valvoline ep 5w-30 has hths at 3.2. which in most cases is more than adequate.

you can go say to Walmart and pick most any 5w-30 for your vehicles and be fine for a 5k oci ,many Mobil 1 fan boys on here, its a good oil, perhaps try the hpl or Amsoil ss for a longer oci if desired, read past threads to make your determination on what brand, there really is no best oil...
