I currently have Castrol Syntec 5W20 in it for this run. I plan on going 5k miles or until November/December time frame. Then I will be using Amsoil 0W20. I don't drive this truck very often. I run an old '96 Tacoma trying to get it to the 200k mile mark.

Castrol SLX Professional 5W30 507.00 GOLD is the factory fill and what is in it now. The 10K mile OCI is the recommended from the factory even for initial run (per VW dealer). I was leary about break-in oil going that long, but VW says it's OK and I took their word on it. Only time will tell.
