Winter for sure for my tgdi. Even with 2 catch cans

What motor oil does the best job of cleaning?

Valvoline premium blue restore is stated specifically to clean rings, presumably it would clean other areas, top end included.

Synthetic blend with the highest synthetic oil concentration?

Heck, even the mainstream "synthetic oils" have a hard time in Germany being "real synthetic " vs "synthetic technology ". Recent valvoline shows all group 3 , no group 4 or 5.

    Super Knock in bigger engines

As the slag said "stop being poor!" Put 93 octane in, not 87. Poof! No knock.

Valvoline XL-III 5W-30 - in 2.4L Hyundai Theta II GDI Engine - Should I use it?

That's exactly what hyundai did. Earlier in the whole theta2 fiasco they had owners come in , hook up to a computer that listened to the knock sensor, if you fell to the left side of the bell curve on noise you got an orange dipstick instead of a yellow dip stick and it read one half qt more oil...

Made the "switch" from M1 to Valvoline Synthetics

So is it wrong to think that group 4 and group 5 bases are "better" than group 3? Sure has hpl likes gushing about their "better" oil bases pcmo.

Made the "switch" from M1 to Valvoline Synthetics

Seems to me valvoline pcmo has given up using group 4 or 5 and is now group 3 only. That seems to me a monetary vs performance decision.

Good low volatility 10w-30 for a Skyactive GDI engine?

Pretty much the most stable, low volatile base stocks and add pack will be valvoline premium blue RESTORE. It says consider it a 15w-30 on the jug.

    2007 GM L92 6.2 Escalade Recommendations

All I can say is my Yukon Denali with the same engine likes this oil and additive combo. 158k miles, lots of towing 8k lb boat/trailer. Plus 1qt mobil 1 5w-50. I had the same noise when I bought it around 78k, I did the whole kreen thing and it helped.

2012 Kia Optima 2.0T Rotella Gas Truck 5w30 167000 miles fuel dilution 3000 miles on oil

Imo 93 gas works best to stop the rich condition My 2011 still is gas in the oil smell but less than when running 87. I have a tune on it and close to 128k miles. 5k mile oci 40 wts mostly.

    Ring Deposits

I would guess AN, POE, PAO, GTL, VISOM DINO But there are many kinds of different forms of the first 3 and more than a handful of the rest. No real way to quantify such unless you had very deep pockets to test all of them In situ in a real motor being driven.

    Ferrari 812 Superfast Oil Consumption

Is this the same guy who was trolling everybody with incessant use thin oil posts now complaining about excessive consumption? Or a doppelganger that is curious enough to ask folks why his $330k car is not happy with his choice of viscosity? F1 cars used to be able to burn lubrication oil as...

What Oil Should I Use for GMC Yukon 2019 in a VERY HOT Summer

My 6.2 l92 in a 2008 Yukon denali pulling a 8000 lb boat trailer combo has made it to 158k miles on 5w30 synthetic oils. If I were in op's climate I'd use 0w-40 mobil 1 like I use in my turbo cars.

Hi. My name is Brian and I am a motor oil hoarding addict.

Over 10 years of oil for 5 different vehicles, not including ope. I feel like a normal bitoger.

Just like that, my bad fuel dilution problem is gone.

Hyundai says it's to light off the cat quicker, so blame Cali again.

    Would you use it?

I would use it. Free has a nice ring to it. Your engine will need to be blindfolded to not notice the difference.

Just like that, my bad fuel dilution problem is gone.

My hyundai sonata 2.0t se 2011 is now at 120k miles. Orange dipstick, 5.5 qt sump, 2 catch cans either side of pcv system , stage 2 tune, just over 300 hp to wheels with nitroethane , mtbe, and other octane enhancers. I run redline 0w-30 as an adjunct to all my other oils. Always a Franken brew...
