coolant is not low, no losing any fluids. Never burnt oil as well from what i can tell. honestly, I think it could be that bad terminal as it’s down to bear copper. What makes you think it’s the cat?

2009 Toyota Matrix 2.4L, when cold starting the car in the morning, not sub zero degrees or anything just after it has been sitting, it turns over and starts right away but for a few seconds seems to struggle or be low on power, no dim lights or anything and rpm’s seem normal for starting...

Ive done that test before and yes even on an incline after starting for the first time it will start fine. Leave it to sit on an angle and it does the thing. Does the torque converter work when the car is starting? I never get any problems when shifting gears etc.

Seem to be having a similar issue with my 09 Matrix, will crank and ignite fine but there's a split second where it hesitates / feels low on power then evens out, gonna test my battery later today but did you ever find a solution to your problem? @DannyM

Doubt its the links have changed those 2-3 times now haha. Could be the strut however those are also new, I do remember that when putting the passenger side strut on we did have to tighten the top hat bolt as the top hat was a bit loose, would you have any tips for checking the strut?

A little update on everything! After the ball joints and driver side engine mounts were replaced the driveway clunk went away! Pretty confident that it was a mix of both as I asked to keep the old mounts and they are torn up, picture attached. However lol, now, not all the time but...

Ok got the car, tested it a bit all seems well! So maybe a combo of the BJs and the mount? Maybe neither and the issue is still there, hopefully not though haha. Needs an alignment after the ball joints so it’s going in for one at a different shop tmr, will ask them about the bushing bolts see...

Final update (Hopefully) The shop checked out the mount, it was bad but the other mounts on the car were good, ball joints replaced but the sway bushing bolts are still stuck... Gonna keep spraying them and hopefully get them off one of these days. Will be picking up the car after work, my...
