    Mobil 1 0W-16

Felt odd pouring 0w-16 into a 18 camry for the first time. It was and every time I have is TGMO , most of the guys I work with didnt give it a second look lol.

Lisle funnel for radiator drain & fill

These work very well at filling and expelling air from cooling systems. The Lisle kit contains the most common radiator adapters. It helps too open up the heater core when filling to avoid air pockets.

Signs of 3800 LIM gasket problem? And does Camaro/Firebird 3.8 have the issue?

How many miles on the engine? Its 18 years old , consider doing this job anyways. Like Trav stated they are affected, on a 3800 engine this is not a hateful repair. Get the aluminum elbows, fel pro gaskets and sleep better at night.

    Thoughts on 2010 Camry V6

Id say go for it. The 2GR-FE is a nice engine , good performance and economy. Does have slight water pump issues as others said but by no means a deal breaker. As with any vehicle , maintenance is important. It might be a good idea to replace the spark plugs, plenum gasket, coolant and trans fluid.

Carquet Wearever ceramic pads - good or not?

Im only aware of getting OEM pads from the dealer . Almost all KIA oem pad kits that I have seen come with hardware. From what I have used of NAPA's brake line , the premium products are very good. Mid grade is ok , some fitment issues on certain applications.

Carquet Wearever ceramic pads - good or not?

I have used those pads on many brake jobs , they will be fine. The main difference ive noticed is the hardware shims are not as nice as oem. They tend to not fit the bracket as well and are a bit thinner than oem. KIA oem pad kits come with the abutment kits for about $80 bucks, why not get...

    Tires Mounted Backwards (Inside Out)

Unfortunately mistakes happen in the auto repair business. The problem I have with this situation is not that there was a mistake made but the way it was handled. This happens from time to time, ive seen plenty of guys do it . I have honestly done it once . The fix is easy , just own up to it...

    Cooper Evolution HT

I put a set on my mothers 11 escape. It handles very well in dry and wet road conditions. Snow and icy condition performance could be better, but not unusable. It is a very quiet tire on the highway though. Im more than happy with the price I paid for it, nice when you get it for 10% over cost...

What Do I Need To Start Wrenching?

I would say that Harbor Freight will be your best friend. For beginning DIY auto repair a semi decent set of metric wrenches and 1/2 , 3/8 and 1/4 ratchets and sockets in shallow and deep. A good set of metric wrenches .Dont forget a good set of pliers, hammers and other general hand tools. A...

Spark plug starter tool or extension?

I personally have never used said tool. I have always used an appropriate length 3/8th extension. Starting slowly and without much force it should be easy to avoid cross threading.I totally see the point of this tool , just have always used an extension. The length of that rubber tube could...

    2013 Elantra - Piston Slap

I have noted that in several 2.0L/2.4L MPI engines of that vintage. Mostly in Forte's s, doesnt seem to effect drivability and goes away shortly. I wouldnt say its a normal characteristic but it doesnt surprise me either.

How do these OBDII values look?

Looks pretty good to me. Fuel trims are good , vacuum is good. Downstream sensors do not "switch" like upstream sensors, they need to carry a fairly consistent voltage. If it was switching voltage like the upstream sensor , it would be a good indicator your catalytic converter is on its way out.

    Catch can for Kia Stinger

Yes , its Pre delivery inspection. KIA has a fairly lengthy and detailed pdi procedure, that pays crap for the tech.

    Catch can for Kia Stinger

Like others have stated, not needed. Save your money for other things. Run a very high quality D2 oil with a OEM filter for no more than 5k. Messing with a PCV that is already engineered well is an easy way to get any warranty claim rejected. KIA is not very strict on warranty for anything...

Forgive me BITOG for I have sinned

Thats standard dealership operations. Upsells are done whenever possible. Service writers paychecks depend on the upsells. Nearly all dealerships have BG or MOC products for any kind of service imagined. Reasons they do it are that the fluids cost the dealer about a 1/3 of the price it sells...

2009 Elantra lost power while driving

Alternator is not under powertrain. Falls under bumper to bumper, which is 6years/60,000K for Hyundai. Alternators on these elantras are cheap and easy to do , much less hassle than taking to the dealership.

    Kia Optima evap codes

Sounds like you need to find another shop to look at your car. If this shop says that they cant guarantee their work, it generally means they are not 100% on their diagnosis. I would try to find another shop capable of doing real diagnostic work, not just firing a parts cannon and praying. Most...

    Performance Bike Shops closing!

Sad to hear , I worked for PB for a good bit of my college years. It was a fun place to work , and had a nice employee discount.

    Kia Optima evap codes

Check the charcoal canister for small hair sized cracks. Check where the canister is bolted into its bracket(s), the bolts go through the canister body and can crack over time. From my experience a P0451 is many times just a bad evap pressure sensor. You will need a vacuum guage and and scan...
