To my Canadian friends whats with your food??

I've been down to the US several times recently and I didn't notice the food quality being much different. Maybe I'm eating at the wrong/right places? Come back anytime!

Canadian Top Doc " Healthcare Imploding"

It seems like health care has been "on the verge of collapse" for decades now. Not to say there can't be improvements, but I put the boy who cried "wolf" and the doctor who cried "give me money" in the same folder.

Why a different change interval in Canada?

Always remember to replace your rubber hosers, eh? Honestly, if they ARE lumping all of Canada together, that's silly. BC weather is much milder than something like Minnesota. An email to Toyota may be informative.

GM's 230 mpg Chevy Volt aka Toyota Prius killer

Reminds me of a joke, which I'll adapt to the situation... A man drops $40k on a new Volt and happily drives it off the lot. He silently glides up to a red light and finds himself beside someone driving an old Cavalier. Smirking, he rolls down the window and yells, "Hey, what's that terrible...

    Newbie Oil Change Questions ...

Back to #1 for a moment, the oil can be drained either hot or cold. Hot makes it thinner and drain out a bit faster, but if it's your first time trying it you might want to change it cold so you don't end up with hot oil all over your hands.

    How does spam work??

Email is so cheap to send that just one or two hits per million spams is enough to stay in business. Besides, spammers target stupid people. Surely there are enough of those to go around.

    dead mouse????

I'm guessing it was once fine and now isn't... but if it's a new mouse, assuming it's optical, you could try moving it around on different surfaces. Some are too reflective and will make the cursor jump around since the sensor gets confused.

    Africa HOT here

35 C here in Vancouver. Holy smokes, not sure it's ever been this hot here before! If it weren't for the ocean we'd probably hit 40.

    An Indulgent Recession

I'm more concerned that the folks who spent too much on their house/car/etc got bailed out, while folks who spent conservatively got... to spend their tax dollars bailing out the others. If there is no penalty for overextending yourself, you can bet people will. I don't much mind helping out...

How many of you actually top off a battery?

I top mine off maybe once a year. Seems I have to add a fair bit of water to get them topped off so I imagine it's helpful.

    Emission System Degredation

My Metro was burning about a quart per 1000 miles for a couple years. Eventually it got to about a quart per 300 (!) miles... added a quart every week. Failed smog testing from all the hydrocarbons I was putting out. Rebuilt the engine, passed smog easily, with the same cat as before. So it...
