    How old is this battery?

Assumption was my GF’s kid left something on because it was fine the day before. Overnight charge only lasted a few hours. I could not find anything left on. The replies to my post confirmed the battery was around 4 years old so decided to swap it out with an O’Reillys. It’s been holding at 12.6...

    How old is this battery?

That’s not very long for an AC Delco battery. I’m going to check the new one when I get home. See if it’s draining

    How old is this battery?

This battery was great until yesterday when it wasn’t. I charged it overnight and a couple hours later it was back down around 11v again. How old is it? 2013 equinox 2.4.

    Rust "Proofing" The Tacoma

A closer pic. As mentioned the CRC goes on thin so it could probably use a touch up. But it’s not bleeding and I’d like to see how much more it will creep.

    Rust "Proofing" The Tacoma

Yes it creeps in warm weather. Mostly solid surface in the cold. I like that because I don’t want the winter sand and salt sticking to the undercarriage. The 2nd pic is over the winter. As you can see, I missed a spot on the subframe weld and rust is bleeding through. Warm now so it’s creeping...

    Rust "Proofing" The Tacoma

I started using CRC after RP–342 changed the spray nozzle. CRC is definitely thinner but much easier to apply. This is a 2019 Jeep Cherokee I coated last year. Still looks good.

They said you could put turtle wax hybrid solutions ceramic spray wax on everything including the windshield. So I tried it. Squeaks are gone. Just a tiny bit is enough. I also found it rain X wiper blades are the only ones I have any luck with not squeaking

    Touching up rust spots.

I’m up north and I rust proof all my vehicles with different methods depending on what the goal is. I’m not sure what you want. To protect the southern car from salt? Make the undercarriage look like it just came out of the factory? Prevent future rust and coat the undercarriage with something?

    Need help understanding torx types

OK, I think I get it now. For standard hex head bolts it’s a deep or shallow socket. Or an impact socket. For Etorx the bigger the bolt, the taller the head gets. Which requires a steep taper. So for the large tall Etorx I may as well buy one offs from hazet. The medium size I can get the Capri...

    Need help understanding torx types

Thanks. Watching an Amazon video review of a Tekton Etorx set, the reviewer showed how the Tekton set only went about halfway down the taller head Etorx like this pic and was wobbly, but his “Hazet” 900S-E20 fit perfect. Hazet is German and expensive but Amazon does sell individual sockets. Are...

    Need help understanding torx types

This is an example of bolt on the Cherokee I need to get off. The caliper bracket bolt has a tall head. A lot of these sets would only grab the top half this bolt. So do I need a kit with a deeper taper at the end? Or does it not matter?

So Capri tools is referring to Etorx as “star”? That’s the same thing?

    Need help understanding torx types

I notice some Etorx are flat, some tapered. Is Does this explain why some Etorx/Torx plus sockets are flat on the end, some are tapered or concave? To accommodate the head height? Can I use one for both?

HF Hercules 3/8 compact impact Question

I tried squeezing the ring with knipex pliers that are smooth and won’t rough up the ring. Seems better so far. Thanks all

    Battery charger power cord gauge.

I never gave it much thought until I noticed the dedicated power cord used to charge and maintain the Escalade in storage was getting distorted. It’s a batteryminder 1500 connected to the wall outlet in the garage with whatever gauge that cord that is. I’ve never seen a cord do that before...

HF Hercules 3/8 compact impact Question

I have impact sockets for the 1/2” Milwaukee. I was hoping I could use the smaller Hercules 3/8 with all the regular sockets I have. I wasn’t sure if there was a difference on how it was going to fit.

HF Hercules 3/8 compact impact Question

I have a Milwaukee 1/2 impact but I wanted something smaller so I purchased the HF Hercules 3/8. I really like the auto mode. Very balanced and quiet. Spins bolts off fast, but then slows down perfectly. Surprisingly quiet. But… I’m tortured by that small ring on the tip getting sockets...
