I just always wondered what was special about dexos. You are correct my truck doesn't spec dexos but it does spec gm 6094m which has been changed to dexos 1.

What is so special about dexos 1 that gm thinks their vehicles NEED to have? My truck, 2004 silverado 1500, calls for dexos 1 spec. But I'm just wondering what would happen if I didn't run a dexos approved oil? What does an oil have to have to be approved for dexos 1?

Replaced the switch problem fixed. Airbag light doest come on with it in the off or auto position so I consider this fixed.

Really confused guys. On the chevys they have the airbag off and auto switch right next to the radio. It's been on the off position since I got the truck and with the airbag light issue I decided to turn it to auto and the airbag light went off. I'm confused.
