    4 bangers part II

the 20v 4age was a revver 8000RPM redline and 170hp@7800 rpm. the 16v 4age I had in my MR2 had zero torque below about 2500rpm... the "sweet spot" was about 4500-6000. I really don't know anything about the subaru motor other than it's more than 50% larger.

The buffet place I go to has items such as rabbit and duck, along with the "american bar" aka mac 'n cheese, mashed potatoes, hot dogs, etc for the people who got dragged along kicking and screaming.

    02 Sensor Removal

I did my O2 on my 88 K2500a couple of weeks ago... I drove it for 7 miles (from my apt to the shop at work), put my 7/8" box end wrench on it and pushed really hard, and busted my knuckles all to ****. It came out like nothing.. I was amazed, as this sucker was 17 years old. now when I changed...

    need replacement windows for home

it depends on what you want to spend really. Paradigm makes really nice affordable vinyl (~$100 each and up each) windows that are fully welded with low-E glass. I've installed several hundred of them and I prefer them over some significantly more expensive windows (read 100 windows for $75,000)...

how big thing it is to change rear main seal?

to change the rear main, the engine needs to be seperated from the transmission. I'm not that familiar with the 60deg V6's, but on a SBC/90deg v6, you also need to drop (or loosen) the pan to get the rear main seal housing out.

How does Magnesium Chloride compare with salt on roads? Will it eat my car?

I live in New England, my neighber lives in a 295 year old house.. Detroit isn't an old city compared to what's here. Besides, my inlaws live in Warren, and my mother is from a small town 20 miles north of Port Huron.. I'm very familiar with the area. if road salt was Detroit's biggest problem...

Vehicles with room for three car seats

you're going to have a **** of a time finding something that'll fit 3 carseats in one seat. you're pretty much limited to a full size car or a fullsize SUV or crew cab truck. We did it for a while in our '93 Rodeo.. it was very (read could barely shut the doors) cramped with 1 rear facing, 1...

How does Magnesium Chloride compare with salt on roads? Will it eat my car?

salt cracking a frame? breaking a spring? gimme a ***ing break. my 17 year old truck's frame and springs are just fine after 17 maine winters. I will say though, that Maine, unlike NH uses about a 80%/20% sand/salt mix that works significantly better than the straight rock salt used in NH. I...

    Beltway?

the difference is, it's not called a beltway, it's just 495. 95 also loops around Boston, but it's just 95. "The Beltway" *IS* the Capital Beltway aka 495.

    Beltway?

"The Beltway" is the loop that Interstate 495 makes around Washington, DC. The term "inside the beltway" means US federal gov't politics, more or less.

F150 more fuel effcient than a Pirius??

I saw a similar technology on some techy show years ago.. probably beyond2000 or similar. but in the one I saw, the powerplant was a 5hp briggs. I remember them hitting the gas pedal w/ the engine off and the thing shot ahead on just hydraulic power.. pretty amazing. for any hybrid city driving...

it takes about 5,000lbs to put my 88 Chevy K2500 on it's bumpstops.. more than twice it's load rating.

    New Toyota large truck

Besides brand loyalty, I'd say the fact that there is no Nissan/Toyota 3/4 ton or heavier has a lot to do with it.
